SORRY FOR THE DELAY, COLLEGE JUST STARTED. I PROBABALY DON'T HAVE TO SAY ANY MORE :P PLEASE BARE WITH ME. :)

NINA'S P.O.V

Oh crap. What was Claire doing here? before she came in, I quickly wore my top again as Ian looked at me to see that I had and then allowed Claire in. She looked really different, She'd died her hair a more vibrant shade of blonde- a little bit like strawberry blonde and she was wearing a simple black dress and heels. She seemed good- better.

"Hello Nina" She smiled sincerely at me taking a seat next to me.

"Hi Claire" I said, feeling incredibly awkward as I recalled our fight and the way I left things with Claire. When she found out me and Ian were engaged at the start of summer she'd literally lost it and then I had to call my uncle from out of city to talk to her and drag her to stay in a rehabilitation facility for a week because my mum was unfit to do so. Ever since then he's been making sure she visits the therapist every week.

"So I'm so sorry to hear about Natalie- I mean uh" she glanced at me, "Mrs Somerhalder"

"You can call her whatever you want, Claire" I said casually although it did get to me that Claire had been so close to Ian's mother and I hadn't even gotten a chance to- in fact his mother really didn't like me at all.

"Thanks" Ian shrugged, his face dropping at the mention of his mother's name. I could tell that even though I'd kept him busy the past few hours, he was still heartbroken.

"She was a great woman, like a second mother to me" She smiled, looking at me. Not with envy but grief.

"I wish I could've gotten to know her" I sighed looking down sadly.

"I remember when she used ask me to bake cupcakes with her, and I always ended up overcooking them to the point they were hard as rocks" She smiled remembering the good times, "She was a great baker though"

I smiled back at her, "Really can't imagine her as a baker"

"I couldn't either at first but she always had things so surprising about her, I wish I could've seen her you know before..." She stopped, not wanting to say it.

"Why are you here Claire?" Ian asked harshly.

"Uh- To see if you're coping okay?" Claire asked.

"What's that supposed to mean? you think this is my fault for something? I can cope just fine." He muttered in anger as both me and Claire were taken aback. Ian was acting up again, it happened every time the topic was brought up, I sighed knowing that I had to be there for him and stood up to sit next to him hoping I could do somehting to calm him down this time.

"Nina please don't babysit me" He said trying to calm down but I ignored him and placed myself next to him.

"I didn't mean that, Ian. I was just asking how you are?" Claire whispered, a little frightened.

"Yea well how do I look?" Ian said in anger as I gripped onto his arm and he looked at me. I gazed at him, my eyes showing sadness until he realised what I was trying to say to him. He sighed, looking back at Claire, "I'm sorry Claire- I didn't mean to blow up on you"

"No that's okay. I- uh I think I should go now" Claire said cautiously. She seemed so much more submissive and fragile than she used to be.

"I'm sorry... again" Ian said under his breath realising everything he had said.

"Thank you for coming Claire, Hopefully I'll come and see you some time" I smiled trying to avoid the awkwardness as she nodded and left with a goodbye.
