VIII

It was an enchanting night.

If anybody were to ever witness it, that was probably what they would've said - along with something about the night sky studded with sparkling stars and how it was absolutely, breathtakingly magical.

And that it was.

It was so magical, that somehow, a spell had fallen upon her as she lay on the damp, green grass. She didn't think, she didn't speak, she didn't feel. She only closed her eyes and imagined his beautiful face, she imagined the hazel eyes that shimmered in the sunlight like the purest of gold, and the smile that could light up even the darkest rooms.

He was light, she thought to herself; he reflected beauty and destroyed darkness.

Oh, how highly she'd thought of him.

But that, once more, is not the point.

The point, my friend/reader/robot (you never know what those cyborgs are up to these days) is that while she was deeply infatuated with this boy, she still hadn't realised a rather obvious thing.

He was coming the very next day.

And I, give it 7 seconds till she remembers.

1..

He was so pretty, she thought smiling, like a picture.

2..

It was almost as if he had come straight out of a painting.

3..

Where had he even come from, anyway?

4..

She heard he had some Indian relatives, but she wasn't sure.

5..

She needed to ask him when he came back.

6..

When was that again?

7..

Wait..

And voila!

Realisation.

She almost jumped with joy (she probably would've if it weren't for the comfy position she had on the grass) but while she was happy, she still couldn't help but remember a certain question that had been bugging her for a long time..

..was he thinking just as much as she was about her?

~~~
"So, what did you do yesterday?" she asks, taking her usual seat.
"Oh, nothing," he sighs dramatically, "Woke up, thought about you, brushed, thought about you, ate, then thought about you, played a little bit on my xbox, then thought about you right before going to sleep."
She laughs, "Seems like a fun day."
"You bet it was." he smirks, "The part with the xbox, not you."
"Oh, shut up."
"What about you?"
"Let's see.." she dragged dramatically, "Got up, saw it was 7 AM. Then, went back to sleep."
"How productive."
"I know."
She takes out her diary, still staring at the stars through her window.
'If we last like the morning sun,
I'll no longer fear the nights that run,
'Cause as soon as they pass I know you will be,
Right by my side, forever with me.
Now, however - I tend to fear,
Doubt a love that is so clear,
But I know, that you'll come back,
Because without the moon, the night is just black.
☆I wish I could know what you can feel,
I wish I could tell how much you can heal,
From all the things that take you from me,
'Cause darling - you're mine and that's all I see.☆
