"Poppy, wake up now, we're going out for dinner, and we know how long it takes you to get ready" dad joked, nudging my arm to wake me up.
I made a slight noise, signalling I was awake and to go away. Wait, did he just say 'going out for dinner?' Who with? We know nobody!
I slowly woke up and checked the time: 12pm.
"What time are we going out?" I shouted down the stairs.
"About 4:30 ish" mum shouted back.
Ok. 4 and a half hours to get ready, wow that's not long. My dad wasn't joking when he said it takes me ages.
I walked into my bathroom and had a shower. After that I towel dried my hair, then put on a baggy jumper just until I finished my make up. I don't know why I do that, I just do. Weird I know. I applied a thin layer of foundation just to cover up spots and marks I may have, I then applied bronzer, blush, a thin line of liquid eyeliner and minimal mascara, and just lightly filled in my eyebrows. Then some light pink lipstick to finish off. I didn't like to add so much makeup that you can see it. I prefer the natural look. Girls who cake it on just look stupid.
"Mum, is this a fancy dinner?" I shouted.
"Yeah" she shouted seconds later.
I nodded my head and looked through my wardrobe. I found a tight white dress with silver diamanté straps, I put it on and it came to about mid thigh, I paired it with some silver diamanté heels. It looked really good together.
I finished drying my hair with the hair dryer then added loose curls to it with my curling iron. I took out my nose ring because it didn't suit it with the dress and just added a simple stud. I put in some diamond earrings which have the infinity symbol dangling from them, and added a little silver hoop to my tragus piercing. I was now ready.
I took a quick selfie for Instagram and uploaded it. And within seconds it had thousands of likes. And by the time I got down the stairs to my parents it was on the popular page. I did I little cheer and locked my phone. Putting it into the little white clutch bag with diamanté details on it.
"Ready?" My dad asked. He was wearing a very fancy suit and my mum was wearing a red flowing dress with diamanté details on.
Wow we're both obsessed with diamanté's.
We headed to my dad's Audi a and got in, buckling up.
"I forgot to ask, who's this dinner with?" I asked curiously.
"Oh, the Dallas'" mum said.
Shit. "I-I- I don't feel well." I lied. I have to get out of this some way! I can't deal with him. Mum and dad have no idea when he does to me. I can't go! Anyway, since when did they meet his parents?
"You're still going" dad laughed.
This is no laughing matter! He bullies me! I need to keep away from him! I accidentally spoke to him! He's gonna kill me! I can't do this. I need to go him. Help.
"We're here!" Dad said getting out of the car.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. I kept repeating that single word over and over in my head. Getting more nervous every second. My dad came to my door and opened it for me. I stepped out and he locked the car before I slowly followed mum and dad into the fancy restaurant. This is going to be the worst night of my life.
