Walking back to mine didn't take long but most of it was spend in an uncomfortable silence, as we soon realized we knew nothing about each other. Awkward! Round about this point was when I fully considered what I had suggested. I mean sure I managed to remain calm on the outside, the picture of feminine grace but on the inside I was freaking out! Of course my parents would fully understand my reasoning and my need to help to Nico but on the other hand he is a fox, how do I know he wont turn on us the moment it suits him? well to late to worry about that now genius, cause I have already extended my hospitality. The words "Dug my own grave" spring to mind.
Arriving outside the door I heard Nico suddenly exclaim "Damn!" and to be honest I couldn't blame him. Ever since I can remember my family had been able to afford almost anything as my dads company is just booming at the moment and my mum is a very highly sought after psychologist. In addition to having lots of money, with my mothers gigantic maternal instinct that is almost smothering, she always only got the best for me and my brother. Apparently no expense was too much to make sure we had all a child could ever dream of. Don't get me wrong me and my brother are not spoilt or anything as my parents would never allow that as manners are very important to them. However not even the house was spared from there overspending as even from the out side it was obvious we were well off. The house was less of a house and more of a mansion with a long pebbled driveway leading to the main double door entrance made of solid oak and patterned with what appeared to be gold to a passer by (don't worry it isn't gold, only very clever paintwork with an interestingly coloured paint - I checked!). The front side has more window than actual wall for no apparent reason apart from to make it appear more majestic. Honestly the whole give the kids the best does have its perks but it makes it difficult to make true friends as most people only see me and my brother as an easy way to cash, although luckily it has stopped us from being bullied on several occasions. the only thing that I truly love about the house it the library that fills almost the size of three normal sized rooms that have been broken down into one. Honestly I would spend my entire life in there and wouldn't consider one moment wasted.
"Are you sure you want me to stay, cause I am fairly sure you would spend most of your time looking for me as I get lost in there" Nico gave a small wave in the buildings general direction.
"Well it isn't that big on the inside, to be honest." I tried to play it off as no big deal, praying to every God I could think of, that my embarrassed blush wouldn't be noticed.
"Suuuuuuure", Nico said giving me one of the best "bull" look I've ever seen. "Well regardless I guess its action time. I mean you work fast, haven't even been on a date yet and already I'm meeting the parents"
By this point I'm fairly sure I was around the same shade as a tomato, but trying to sound chilled and failing miserably, I managed to choke out a quick "yup, here we go" from lips that appeared to have stopped functioning and a throat that seemed adamant that it was not letting any words out.
with that we made our way up the porch and to the front door, where some awkward shuffling was needed to untangle myself in order to get my keys from my back pocket. Once keys had been oh so gracefully collected, the door was unlocked and taking a deep breath we walked into the house.
