My senses slowly woke up, the feeling returned first in my head, then spread out to my fingers and toes. It first tingled, like when you sleep on something for far to long. Then it felt like needles, and then came the fire.
It burned so hot within me. I couldn't stand it any longer. I opened my mouth and screamed as my body convulsed. I felt a hand placed on my head and a voice. It kept saying a light "shhh" I opened my eyes and I caught the whiteness of the room. Then I caught his eyes. He was still here. His eyes were red and filled with worry. Had this fool been crying? I felt the jerking stop as I regained control of my body, The fire ebbing away. I blinked softly and he grasped my hand.
"What the hell happened?" I whispered.
"You were out for three days, you were stabbed and....I thought you were dead" He whispered her eyes were getting wet. I stared at him in shock and I sat up. Pain shot through my body and I pressed my hand against his face. A jester he did a lot when the empress was crying. He looked at me stunned and he closed his eyes breathing deeply.
"Were you here that entire time? "I asked quizzically drawing my hand away as his eyes reopened. I stared blankly at him. He nodded.
"The Empress was very angry, but I couldn't stay away. I choose you for a reason, you have a long life to live. A perfect soul shouldn't be tampered with." He whispered looking at his hands. He had blood caked on them. I was in shock and he caught notice of my hands. "I didn't leave your side at all. I couldn't." His voice was soft. I looked at his beautiful suit now ruined by me. His hair was flat and his face looked sad.
"Your empress, where is she?" I asked trying to distract him as I slowly turned to move around the room. We still had an attack to do, I can't afford sick days. It would be attack time in two days. I had to get better by then. I stood up my legs wobbled and he rushed to my side holding me tightly.
"You should really get back into bed." He sounded panicked but I shrugged him off walking towards the door. I was only in a white dressing gown. I turned towards him.
"I have an attack to prepare for." I smirked. "Your welcome to come I still haven't picked the knights." I looked at myself and opened the door. Every step I took sent pain through my body, the bandages were tight and the pain wasn't as great. I herd fast steps coming after me. "What has happened to the assassin?" I asked my voice betraying nothing of how much pain I was feeling.
"He was taken to prison and sentenced to hanging. He demanded to see you before his death." I nodded. Stupid father. I'd be the one to kill him. I knew that already for I was general and I have the say. They give the order I kill.
"Your empress?" I asked. I needed to get the run down on what I had missed.
"Out in the neighboring empire of Asicana. Touring missions for allies." I nod and continue too hold my head high stepping into my room. He stops at my door and nods as I close it leaving him standing outside. I emerge in my white armor and red cape. He nods in acceptance and I bow.
"My liege." I say slowly and he smiles slightly. " I believe you should sleep." He shook his head and touched my face and nodded.
" No more of that, I'm just Aiden." He whispered and I nodded slowly. I walked along the halls. The metal scratched against the bandages irritating the wounds.
"Aiden, will you please gather all of the nights in the war room. "I watch him nod and turn towards that way. I was requested in the holding cells, which means I'd better go there.
As I opened the heavy door I realized I might snap. I needed someone, but it was too late now. I walked down the stone stairs torch in hand, red cape flurrying out behind me.
"Father." I said coolly
"Well if it isn't my little Princess, Alexandra" His cold voice echoed around the stone room. He sat tied up a crumb of bread and glass of water laid by him. His eyes met mine. Hatred settled through my body. I wanted him dead.
