Christine Ramona sat in bed, waiting for her dog to climb its way up onto the mess of sheets. Ginger, her runt of a bloodhound, was heading towards her room, evident to the ringing of her collar. She turned on the small television and listened to the news, helping her dog up onto the bed.
Suddenly, the lights began to flicker. Rolling her eyes, she looks at the television and pets the now shivering Ginger. The wind was howling outside, which was peculiar since the weather currently being displayed on the television said that the night was meant to be a calm Sunday night. A bit anxious, she got up and shut the blinds over her windows. Ginger began whining at the window, hiding underneath the covers.
The house went dark in that precise moment. Christine felt her way to her bed, and clambered in. Ginger cuddled up with her, and they dozed into slumber together. Christine's dreams trapped her in a dark room with nothing but a single light stretching from way up high, with water beginning to drown her from the bottom up. Quickly, her dream self realized that she was stuck in a well.
Just as she was about to drown inside the dream well, Christine awoke. Her heart pounded inside her chest. A red light emerged from the hallway outside her bedroom. This red light was the only thing lighting up her house, plunged in pitch black. She checked her bed, and Ginger was nowhere to be found.
"Ginger!" Christine gasped, short of breath. She stared in horror as Ginger was pawing herself slowly toward the red hallway. "Get back here! Please!" Ginger seemed to be in some sort of trance. Not thinking, Christine fled from her bed to stop Ginger from going any further, only to be threatened by Ginger's deep growl.
From the partially open door, Christine spotted a shadowed figure standing in front of the red light that protruded from the hall. Entranced by the crimson overflow, she felt herself being controlled by another force, to walk slowly towards the embodiment. As she got closer, her mind became fuzzier and fuzzier, until she blacked out.
When she awoke, she was on her bed. It was pitch black, and the red light was gone. Something felt off, however. As if something was watching her. Just as she thought this, a hand caressed her stomach. Suddenly, a heavy weight pressed upon her, as if someone was using her as a bed. She tried to scream and get up, but the words wouldn't come out, and her body was paralyzed.
"Tsk tsk..." A voice came from the darkness. "You can't escape from me."

"White... middle aged... nice hair though, doesn't look a day over 30." Christine examined herself in the mirror. She grabbed her body, feeling herself, as if she was unused to the body she had been living in for 35 years. "Different then last time, but it will do. For now." She strutted back into her bedroom, and stared at the bloodhound growling on the bed.
"What do you want, Fido?" Christine smiled maliciously. "I'm gonna be in this body for a while, so you mind as well get used to it." She paused. "Ginger, she called you?" Christine laid on the bed in her pajamas, and Ginger fled to the corner of the room. "Let's see... Mundane news for today..." She flipped through the channels until she found one of the local news.
"Reports say a body has been found alongside Lakeside road, the road that passes Luminescent Lake and crosses through the town of Graywood. Sources say that the body belongs to Matthew Denmark, around the age of 38, though the autopsy reports that the body has shown extreme degradation in a short period of time, and red pentagram carved into her forehead. The perpetrator is still at large, though minimal evidence has been found regarding the scene of the crime. Investigators are searching for evidence, though they suspect it may be the infamous Demonic Killer, as many locals have been calling the perpetrator.
