Chapter Four

 

Chapter Four:

‘Daisy, you look stunning!’ Anne cried as i stepped out in my new dress and heels. I fingered the disc that was sitting on my collar bone as i thanked her. Anne was looking lovely herself, a pair of floaty black trousers and a sparkly top, she was beautiful.

‘Harry has been talking about this weekend for a while!’ She said as she handed me a glass of champagne.

‘i can’t wait Anne, i really do think i love him’ i spoke softly, i knew she had heard me, id never tell my mother this, just with her i felt safe and comfortable. She smiled a huge smile and hugged me, in my ear she whispered; ‘i think he loves you too baby’.

I nervously held Anne’s hand as all the acts came on and performed, One Direction were last, i gulped back the nerves i had for Harry, the blood was rushing through my veins and i squeezed her hand tighter when Simon announced their name.

‘Stop squeezing, they’ll be amazing’ Anne said softly in my ear, i released my hand a little but kept it in her clutch. The double doors slid open, and the pounding of music flooded the room. Before i knew it i was watching my boyfriend, MY boyfriend dancing and singing around on stage like a proper pop star, smiling with pride i looked around Anne was crying, i grinned as Harry took a solo, closing my eyes i listened to the sweet melody his voice produced, he hit every note and my body tingled as he did so, i opened my eyes and felt a bead of hot water fall from them, i was crying.

‘The Winner, of Xfactor 2010 is... Matt Cardle!’ Dermot’s voice was loud, and crystal clear i felt my body slump a little before clapping for him. The stadium was erupting into screams of happiness as millions of bite of confetti floated down from the ceiling. I watched as Harry and the boys swarmed around Matt, the cameras zooming in on the winner. Harry whispered something in his ear before grinning out at the audience cheekily.

Once all the TV crews, interviews etc had left Anne and I all made our way to the green room, where Harry had often met Anne before. I rocked back on my heels and felt a cool breeze welcome on my back as a door was pushed open. I could hear a mixture of accents chat excitedly as they neared the second door, turning around i saw Harry his arm around Louis, Niall, Liam and Zayn all walking behind them, before seeing us and their own families and dispersing. We all crowded around Harry, congratulating him on third place, because to me that was an incredible, almost unreal achievement.

Over dinner we all chatted, Harry excitedly talked about how Simon had signed them, he was brimming with excitement, his hand held mine on top of the table, his forefinger tracing patterns over my knuckles. I watched as Anne enjoyed her sons company, Harry’s dimples forming whenever he smiled.

At the end of the meal, i let Harry have some time with his mum by leaving to go to the bathroom. I sat down on the sink and dialled home, Hope picked up on the second ring and she told me off for ringing her; ‘you should be enjoying tonight, not ringing me!’ she called down the phone, i explained about giving Harry family time and she agreed it was okay for five minutes, she asked every detail, she also asked about Niall, i started to think she might have a crush on him. I told him he was lovely and very sweet, she said that it was ‘cool’ and then suggested i go back to my ‘fit boyfriend’, i laughed and hung up on Hope, sliding my phone into my bag i turned around. Checking my makeup in the mirror, puffing my hair up a little, i walked back out into the restaurant. I spotted Harry paying the bill and smiled, His head was bent over the card machine and Anne was putting her coat on, i smiled at them both and grabbed my jacket.

‘Let me’ Harrys deep voice said from behind me as he helped me put my jacket on, ‘thank you’ i said softly, his eyes lingered on mine for a moment, the room went silent and then he looked away and back to his mother.
