Chapter Fifteen
‘Dada’ called a small, sweet voice from the sitting room, smiling as i walked towards her. Her chubby arms stretched out as she smiled a toothless grin. ‘Lottie’ i whisper as i pull my daughter into my arms, her tight blonde curls bounce as she grins again and kisses my cheek. A giggle erupts from her mouth as both of us spot Louis walk into the room, Louis sticks out his tongue and makes a face, ‘how’s my beautiful god daughter’ he coos into her face before taking her from my arms and swinging her around.
I watch as Harry and Louis fuss over our daughter, her patchwork trousers and pink t-shirt are just one of the many gifts Aimee and Louis have given her since she was born.
It’s been a year since she was born, and i can’t help thinking as i finish the final touches to the birthday cake just how special my little girl is.
The way she snapped a Harry i was sure would never been the same, back into himself. I thought having this baby would put a strain on the relationship we had, but so far it hasn’t, the occasional disagreement whilst I’ve been tired, or he has, hasn’t affected us at all.
It would seem impossible to think that i was only just seventeen when id become pregnant with Lottie, id never of thought i could handle a baby, and i proved myself wrong. I'm proud of the way Harry and i have brought her up so far, he has managed work, and I’ve been able to look for a job, at the same time as being a mum.
Hope and Bell had been to see her a few times too, my mum had even sent a congratulations card, but we both knew that would be all she would ever do for my daughter. I am happy though, everything was starting to work out.
I smiled at Louis, who was playing with Lottie on the carpet, i looked again over my shoulder at Daisy and Aimee in the kitchen finishing lunch and i smiled, i genuinely was happy.
‘Harry, please will you come and help me clean up’ Daisy called and i turned to see she was pulling the biggest puppy dog eyes. ‘Of course’ i whispered giving her a kiss before clattering the plates together and sticking them in the sink. I felt a pair of warm hands rub my back as i scrubbed them clean, ‘aw your both so sweet, like a married couple’ Aimme joked as Daisy held the towel out for me to dry my hands on.
‘Well that’s the only thing we haven’t done’ i reply laughing, we seem to have done everything backwards.
Moments later Lottie is in Daisy’s arms yawning, and Louis and I are sitting drinking a beer on the kitchen table watching as Daisy rocked her backwards and forwards. ‘I think she likes you singing’ Aimee said looking to me when Lottie started crying. ‘That’s true, can you put her down for a bit?’ Daisy said to me as she jiggled Lottie up and down on her hip, ‘Sure, love’ i replied taking my little girl from Daisy and walking upstairs.
The house suddenly became quite, without Lottie’s giggles or crying that filled the silence. I returned to the kitchen to see Louis and Aimee putting on their coats and saying goodbye to Daisy. ‘Thanks for having us mate, i hope Lottie has had a nice birthday, see you Monday’ Louis said as he gave me a hug, i ruffled his hair; ‘cheer bro’ i replied as i went to give Aimee a kiss goodbye.
‘Bye’ Daisy called as we shut the door behind them. I pulled Daisy into a hug as soon as we got back into the sitting room and we both collapsed laughing onto the sofa. ‘Mm I'm so sleep’ she muttered nuzzling into my collar and kissing the nape of my neck.
‘i love you Curly’ i mutter just before Harry kisses my lips, he starts grinning and replies ‘ i love you too’ and after he says this he kisses me, and I’ve never had a kiss from him like this; it’s a soft, content, happy kiss, that neither of us have ever experienced before.
From that kiss, i knew, that nothing would ever stop me from loving him.
The End.
