"I find it's usually the bullies who are the most insecure."
-Tom Felton

I walked into my last class for the day, and immediately walked to the back of the room. I stuck my ear phones in and kicked my legs up leaning against the back wall. about a minute later the scuffling of a chair was heard to my right. I opened one eye to see the person who sat next to me was staring.

"Didn't your parents ever tell you that staring is rude?" I bit out. Obviously not taking the hint he continued on looking.

"What." I snapped.

"Nothing" he finally said "It's just that...never mind" I removed the music from my ears and sat up.

"No, please continue, I want to know what you think." It came out annoyed and a tad bit sarcastic.

"It's just that you seem different." he mumbled and looked away shyly.

"Different? What's your name?" I ask crossing my arms.

"N-No! I m-mean your just...not like the other girls that go to our school." His cheeks tinged with a rosy pink color and I had to admit that it was kind of cute to see a guy blush. "My name is Drew." He continued softly, though this time without the stuttering.

"I'll take that as a compliment, because most girls around here seem to be of some equivalence to that."

I pointed to a blonde that just so happened to be the one I encountered at lunch. She walked into the room followed closely by two other posh looking girls. "Speaking of her. Who is she ? We had a little run in this afternoon." I asked as I l laid my head back agents the wall.

"Oh, that's just Skylar. Sh-"

He wasn't able to tell me anymore the teacher walked in and cut into his sentence. "Welcome to Life Experiences. You had almost the last two weeks to fool around. Now you begin the real stuff, starting with relationships-" I sat up and looked at Drew. "-for the next month you will be in a "relationship" where you will be monitoring your interactions and how well you get along. At the end of each week we will have a class exercise to see how well you do. There is an even about of boys and girls so their should be no problem. Once you get partnered up you may not change NO exceptions." She began pairing up the names.

"You have to be kidding me" I whispered. "It's not all that bad." He defended.

"Maybe for you, but I don't know anybody, not to mention I don't have the best people skills if you haven't noticed."

"Your not that bad?" He disagreed. Even if it sounded more like a question, I still appreciated it.

"Drew you are with Skylar."

He looked at me and winked. "Wish me luck." Gathering his things, I watched the only person I was able to talk to today, and not wish for there head on a stake, walk towards what I believed to be his own kind of personal hell.

"Your going to need to invest in some holy water if you expect to make it out alive. Or Raid." I joked.

He turned and said "I could or I could be productive and invest in pizza with garlic you know, knock out two birds with one stone." Drew whispered back as he passed my desk.

I don't know what it is about the kid but I felt more relaxed when he's was here. Weird.

All of the sudden a figure stepped in front of me blocking my view and breaking me from my thoughts.

"Hey. Your Dorinda right?" It questioned

"Who's asking?"

The corner of his lip lifted in what could almost be called a smile. "I'm Nick. Your partner." He rumbled.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw a flash of gold and turned my head slightly to investigate, while still keeping an eye on Nick. What I found was a seething, glaring Skylar.

I nodded my head towards her. "I think your girlfriends a little jealous." I told him and glanced at Skylar and then back to him. "I mean if looks could kill id be six feet under." He chuckled. I heard her huff angrily. "I stand corrected. Seven."

"Don't pay her any attention she's harmless." I nodded and began to look for something to distract me.

I don't believe his little 'She harmless' remark. I've meet girls like Skylar before. They are vicious, and territorial. Especially when they see something they want. And I have a feeling that if she could she would have her claws in this one bone deep.

After the last bell rang and we were dismissed I waited around for a few minutes for the halls to clear. By the time I found my locker the place was pretty much abandoned. I crammed my things into the tiny square compartment and slammed it closed. Spinning on my heels I ran in to a wall of flesh. Muscular flesh. "Watch it!" I snapped and went to step around him but he stuck an arm out to stop me.

I heard voices from around the corner but wouldn't dare take my focus from the guy in front of me.

"Wanna play a little game?" He asked I looked up at him and in his eyes I saw hunger and not for food. My breath caught in my throat and I had to force the fear down push it to the back of my mind. Showing fear will only make it worse give home the upper hand. I looked up at him with a stern face "Not if you where the last guy on earth and it was survival of the species." He pushed me back and slammed me agents the locker knocking the wind out of me. Me and my big mouth, never know when to shut the hell up.

"Hey!" A voice called. looked up and it was that guy form class, Nick. And what must be a friend of his walking next to him.

The bully saw them make there way towards us and started to panic. His beefy hand wrapped around my arm and he tugged with a firm grip trying to drag me away with him. I struggled but the big lug was to strong and I couldn't break his grip.

"Hey!" Nick yelled out again. My attacker turned, momentarily distracted, big mistake buddy.

I went to escape but he grabbed my hair in a fist and pulled me back towards him. Hard. My eyes started to water from the pain. He hooked a tree trunk he called an arm around my neck and I felt some thing cold against my throt. Oh shit.

My thrashing stopped almost immediately. Their rescue approache slowly came to a stand still as well.
His friends eyes widened and Nicks jaw clenched. "Wanna reconsider your answer little girl." He slurred.

My fear was trying to push through and black dots started to cloud my vision. I need to focus. Breathe I told myself. Focus, focus, focus. I chanted in my head until I was able to focus on the anger instead of the pain.

"Is the knife supposed to scare me?" I asked as nonchalantly as I could given the predicament I found myself in.

I could feel the anger coming off him.
"Is that your answer?" He questioned

"No, my answer remains the same." I elbowed him in the ribs, turned and my leg came up knead him in between the legs and as he leaned down I grabbed his arm and twisted it around I leaned into his ear "Not if you were the last guy on earth." Taking a step away i picked up the knife as the guys finally made there way over. "You ok" the friend asks worried.

I take a deep breath and nods my head "Yeah, no harm done." I lied.

Nick took a step towards me and I backed up. "I'm not gunna hurt you," he said in a soothing tone. "Your bleeding and I want to -"

And that panic I tried so hard to push back rushed forward and crashed through me. His worried face was the last thing I saw before everything went black.
