CHAPTER FOUR
Miranda's P.O.V
I walked inside to the mouth-watering smell of Mason's lasagna. I walked into the kitchen and sat on the counter, "It smells amazing, babe."
He grins from ear to ear like a child on Christmas, "Thanks, beautiful. Have a nice walk?"
"I did," I say truthfully. "It's been awhile since I've been able to just step outside and enjoy my surroundings."
"I'm usually running from something, or someone." I mumble quietly to myself.
"What was that?" He asks.
"What? Oh, nothing." I've got to stop thinking out loud.
"Yeah, you do." He says as he contains his laughter,
Shit. "Again?" I asked, getting annoyed.
"Yes, but I think its cute." He smiles and kisses my cheek softly.
I giggle like a schoolgirl, his lips are soft, its like I took a cloud and rubbed it on my cheek. I don't know what I did to deserve him, he was so sweet, so caring. I don't understand how he could love someone with a past as bad as mine. I have scars, physical and emotional ones. They haunt me daily, like a nightmare playing like a movie that's still in theaters. I will never be able to escape from my past, no matter how hard I try, but Mason accepts that; he accepts me and that's all I could ever need.
Mason's P.O.V
I wonder what she's thinking about, like I always do. She's just so fragile and innocent, I still can't completely understand why someone would want to hurt her the way HE did. No matter now, I won't let that happen to her, never again. She's safe with me, she always will be.
"Thank you." she said softly.
I look at her with a confused look, "For what?"
"You were thinking out loud." She giggles a little.
"Oh! Ha, well, you're welcome, beautiful."
