CHAPTER THREE
Miranda'sP.O.V
I knew I had to tell Mason that Jack was back, but I just couldn't. Things were finally going right, well minus the obvious, but still. I couldn't tell him, I didn't have the heart to. He's so protective, I'm afraid he'll get himself thrown in jail or something.
Mason looks at me with those. warm, sparkling emerald eyes, "You alright?"
"Yeah, I'm just gonna go get some air. I'll be back by sundown."
"Alright," he said slowly, "I'll make dinner then."
"Okay." I walk out into the cool, slightly chilling winter air and start walking. All I can hear is the sound of the wind blowing through my hair and my own chilling thoughts. My mind goes back to that night. That horrible, wretched night when I thought my life was gonna end before it even began.
"Come here, sweetheart, let me show you what a good time is."
"Ew, Jack, get the fuck away from me."
"What'd you just say to me?!"
"I said, 'get the fuck away from me.'"
He was furious, like, imagine a lion who's been starving for days, Jack's mood was so much worse.
"You're a little bitch, I don't know why I even liked you to begin with; oh yeah, I didn't. I just felt sorry for you." He laughs a horrid, maniacal laugh and walks away.
"I hate you." I mumble. He stops dead in his tracks and turns to face me.
"What did you just say?"
"N-nothing."
SLAP! I didn't realize what had just happened until it was over, only that's the thing, it will NEVER be over.
