Chapter 2: The Pit of Death

Location: Gritzy Temple
As they walked in, a large rock fell on the floor of the Temple, landing near Maihami. "Aahh!" he screamed. The ground split open, lava bubbles spewing out. Maihami fell into the hole screaming.
"Maihami!" shouted Guile. Guile peered over the edge to see Maihami falling. The ledge under Guile soon broke, making Guile fall after Maihami. Lava bubbles popped, their contents exploding in midair. They knew they had to find a way out.

Maihami shifted his body around the explosions, Guile doing the same. It looked as if the world was falling around them. Five lava bubbles shot up, exploding around them. Four of them hit the sides of the walls, making them begin to cave in. The last one exploded right in front of them, blinding their vision for a moment. When they opened their eyes, a portal was resting in midair, awaiting their arrival. Below it sat a pool of lava.They were too surprised to speak but they thought in unison. They launched their bodies toward the portal, barely missing a massive explosion. Guile was hit and was blasted to the wall. Maihami grabbed Guile's hand, pulling him into the portal. They closed their eyes and everything went dark.

When Maihami opened his eyes, they were laying in a stone cave. He shook Guile to wake him up. When he awoke, they decided to search the place. They walked into the area before them, a torch lighting the way at the bottom of a ginormous stone staircase.  They climbed up its , as it gradually got darker. As they neared the top, it got lighter. They thought that the way out was in front of them, but they soon realized that it was just another torch. Once they reached the top, a hallway veered off to the right. It was completely lit so they decided to follow the lit trail. After that they went around a small right turn, followed by a left turn, followed by another right. This hallway led down what seemed like a continuous path. Behind the walls, they could hear lava bubbling. It sounded like it was eating away at the stone wall. The decided to run through it, in case anything happened. They took a left turn, followed by a right turn, then went up another lit staircase. Above the staircase was a ledge,  Maihami grabbed onto it, pulling himself up, then helping Guile. This continued for a while since there were many ledges. It was shaped like a backwards S. It finally led them to a descending staircase. They went down another hallway, then jumped down off of a ledge, for it was the only way down. They finally went down a darker hallway. They went up a tiny staircase and what stood before them was terrifying. It was a pure black monsterous-looking spirit with one eye, and two arms and legs. They stood on the staircase in shock.

"Who are you?" asked the being.

"M-My N-Name Is M-M-Mahami. I'm from a nearby village.

The being's head looked beyond Maihami. "And who is that with you?"

Guile poked his head out from behind Maihami. "Hi. I-I'm Guile. Who are you?"

"I am the Spirit of Darkness." he said clenching his fist. "I am one of Garmuda's many parts of life. There are 5 spirits that make up Garmuda's presence. I am one of the 5. If you find all 5 of us Spirits, we shall grant you a gift..."
"What kind of gift?" asked Maihami curiously.
The Dark Spirit smiled. "It's a gift so great, you'll never forget it."
"Sounds cool!" shouted Maihami. He turned around to Guile. "Let's go, Guile!"
Guile looked up, a look of worry in his eyes. "This guy is shady, Maihami. Maybe we shouldn't do it."

"Do you like awesome gifts, Guile?" asked Maihami.

"Yes" replied Guile.

"Then let's find the other 4 spirits." said Maihami.

As they walked toward the other side of the cavern, the Dark Spirit watched them. "Wait!" he cried. Guile and Maihami turned around.
"You'll find the next spirit in Sondaz. He'll be underneath the tallest building." said the Dark Spirit.

"Lets head to Sondaz." said Maihami energetically.

"Take the elevator behind me to get to the floor of the temple." Said the Spirit.

Guile turned to Maihami. "Maihami, are you ready to see Sondaz?" Maihami answered with a nod and they went into the elevator.

When the reached the top, they began to walk on the dirt floor towards the exit. Right as they were about to leave, Guile looked up. "Maihami, I have to tell you something important..."

Maihami turned around. "What is it Guile?"

"It's about Sondaz..." he began. "The building that Spirit was talking about...is a Terrorist's Headquarters."
Maihami' eyes widened with shock.

"The group is called "Devalisai" " he said.

"Dev-uh-Liz-eye?" asked Maihami.

"That's how it's pronounced."

"Alright, but I'm going to get my sword ready, just in case..." said Maihami. They continued walking until they exited the temple in silence.
