"My advice for girls who are trying to find their Prince Charming is to be open for anything. Be open to new experiences, be open to the idea that it may take longer than you want, but if you're open to meeting new people and new adventures, then love will come along."
- Lilly Collins
"Do you need a ride?"
His deep voice echoed through the empty streets and took my breath away. I didn't know what to say, I wasnt stupid enough to get into a car with a stranger. I was desperate to get back to my family, yes, but not stupid.
" No I'm fine, I'm almost home, but thank you." I lied with a smile
"Has anyone ever told you that you're a horrible liar?" The boy said with a smile showing off his perfectly white teeth.
I exhaled quickly out of my nose and smiled back.
"Ok, I'm not that close to home, but really I'm fine, I don't want to inconvinience you. I'll find my way back."
As I started walking away from the truck that was pulled up beside me I heard the boys voice call out to me.
"I insist."
Before i could even turn around he was out of his door and opening the door to the pasengers seat.
I let out a deep breath and realized that I either took a ride with him or I wondered the streets alone in the dark. Either could end badly so I decided to let loose and get in the truck. I grabbed onto the inside of the door and pulled myself up. The truck had a lift kit on and I realized that I was wearing the dress still. At theat point I realized that the boy holding open the door had seen up my dress. My cheeks turned red with embarassment as I sat down in the vehicle. He shut the door behind me and ran over to his door and hopped in.
"So, where to?" he asked looking over
I didn't meet his eyes with mine because I was still a little embarassed about the whole skirt thing.
"Umm, I dont exactly know." I said quietly.
"What do you mean?" he asked with one eyebrow raised.
"I just moved in and im not exactly sure where my house was, i took a walk and i kind of lost track of time and wondered into the middle of no where." i said looking down feeling stupid.
a slight smile tugged at the corner of his lip. did he find my misery funny? did the thought of me being lost and not knowing how to get home amuse him? oh no, hes going to kidnap me and no one will even know where I whent. days will go by, posters will go up, milk cartons will get sent out then eventually weeks and months will pass, people will start to give up hope and when years go by people will ask 'what ever happened to that carson thorne girl?' and others will reply with a questionable 'who?' ABORT ABORT I should jump out of the truck now and save myself from the painful murder that's going to take place.
before I had the chance to fling my 110 pound body out of the door the boy spoke up.
"don't worry, im not going to hurt you. ill help you get home safe."
a deep sigh escaped my lips
