Selina goes limp in my arms. I grab the first nurse I see and explain what happened. She puts Selina on a hospital bed and hooks a monitor to her. Nothing happens. The nurse looks at me with a sad smile.
"I'm afraid that there's nothing we can do. She's gone. We'll leave the monitor plugged in for a little while just to be sure."
I look at the nurse and nod as I sit down and watch the monitor. I have a few tears beginning to run down my face.
Suddenly the monitor begins beeping. Her heart is beating. My Selina's alive. I get up and walk over to her.
"I knew you couldn't really be gone." I say grabbing her small hand.
She opens her eyes and looks at me confused. "Who are you?"
Another tear falls from my eye.
