"Well the last thing I remember was this guy kicking me," Ed points to his horribly drawn picture of the palm tree-haired person.
"It's odd that he let you live," Armstrong ponders.
"He brought Ed to us and then said that he was a 'precious resource'," I do air quotes when I say precious resource.
"What about the sacrifice and these other armored souls?" Armstrong frowns in confusion.
"Not to mention the Ouroboros tattoos and the transmutation circle," Hughes places his hand under his chin in thought. "And Doctor Marcoh claims that they were using the Philosopher Stones in Ishval."
"Every clue we have to work with seems to lead to its own mystery," Armstrong states as he looks over at Hughes.
"Not much we can do about that though," Hughes looks up. "Any answers we might've found are under a ton of rubble back in the lab."
"Well then," I chuckle slightly, yet it trails off.
"Hmm," Hughes takes the drawing of the tattoo and examines it again. "I'll run a search and see if I can find some priors on anyone with an Ouroboros tattoo."
"Very good," Armstrong picks up another set of papers and examines them once again. "And while you do that I'll continue looking into the research team that was working with Doctor Marcoh in Ishval."
Suddenly a knock came from the door that caught all our attention. I didn't turn my head but I did glance over too see who it was.
"Sorry to interrupt," Führer Bradley smiles.
"Führer Bradley," Armstrong and Hughes salute. "Your excellency."
"Calm down gentlemen," he waves his hand to tell them to stop with salute and such. "This is just an informal visit."
By then everyone stands, even Ed. Yet, I stay seated on the side of Ed's bed. He glances over at me and smiles. I nod and smile back.
"Yes sir," Hughes responds quickly. "But may I please ask the occasion, sir?"
"This young man," the Führer looks at Edward. "Well, you're injured. I thought a nice melon might cheer you up."
"I guess," the Führer hands Ed a basket with a melon in it. "T-thank you sir!"
I chuckle at Ed's nervousness.
"I understand you've been checking up on some of the senior staff. Is this true Major Armstrong?" The Führer question without looking up at him.
"Um," Armstrong starts sweating. "Yes sir. But, uh, how did you know I was..."
"You should know that nothing gets past me major," Bradley slightly looks up at him, yet reverts his attention back on the pip-squeak. "And now you. Full Metal Alchemist. Tell me what you know about the Philosopher Stone."
I frown as I see the Führer glaring Edward down.
"And I hope for your sake," he begins to tower over him. "That you don't know too much."
Preparing myself to attack at any moment, I stop. My eyes widen slightly as the Führer begins to laugh.
"I'm only kidding," he places a hand on top of Ed's left shoulder. "There's no reason for you to be so uptight."
"Huh?" Ed has the most dumbfounded look on my face.
"I know that there's been some suspicious activity within the military lately, and I believe it's necessary there's something to be done about it." The Führer turns his head and see the notes we had about what happened at the prison.
