Next Morning------
The sun is shining straight through my laced curtains, hurting my eyes. I cant stop thinking about my dream. Flynn... I love it! I've never heard a name like it before! But the one thing that just keeps bothering me is that if I do go looking for him, where would I look? I make sure that Jack is still asleep, but to my surprised he isn't in bed. So I rush to my closet and grab the "Unknown Survival Bag" that I've been hiding for the past three years.
I throw on my favorite outfit and my old sneakers with the duck tape on them, and I throw my survival bag over my shoulder. "Ok I guess I'm going to half to find a way out without either Jack, or Mom seeing me." I look around the room for an answer, then I see the window. "Perfect!" I whisper to myself.
My hands start to get shaky from the thought that I was about to leave the land that I've never left in my entire life. But it was time, I needed to leave before I went completely insane. I pull open the window, I didn't even think about closing it, I just run down that old dusty path. Every step was a cloud of dust that formed around my feet.
I finally got to the barn, I climbed up to the top and just sat there for a little bit peering through the holes in the floor board.
I need to leave this place.
But what if you don't fit in? What if you turn into them like what mom said?
Just do it, you've been held up and hidden for your whole life, its time you leave this place.
I throw my bag over my shoulder and climbed back down the ladder.
"ALICE!"
I turn around to see jack at the entrance of the barn. "What are you doing here!?!" His face is blotchy and red, I guess he was crying before he got here.
"Jack!?!? What's wrong!?
He is panting as tears stream down his rosy cheeks. "Where are you going? I noticed that the emergency bag was gone and the window was opened so I panicked." He ran straight into my arms and hugged me tight.
"Go back home Jack."
"Where are you going?"
"Don't worry Ill be back soon"
He nodded and hugged me one more time, then turned and started walking down that dusty old path with is head hung.
I immediately turned around and started walking to the old barbed wired fence and just stood there. There were too many things going through my mind that I cant think straight. I reach out my hand and grasp the fence then jump over.
I'm officially on the outside.
