Jae Eun's Pov

"I'm a demon."

I spun around. "What?"

He shuffled his feet awkwardly as he attempted to further explain himself. As soon as his mouth opened, I held up a hand.

"Wait, stop, Jungkook, you don't need to continue. I don't think you're very well today. It's like you've got a personality transplant or something. First you come up to me and tell me you're sorry, which is like something you've never ever done before. Next you come up with a great deal of good try but unbelievable explanations. Go home, rest well, and don't come to school tomorrow if you wake up and still think you're a demon. Because much as I hate you, I don't think you're that bad to qualify for the title of a demon. Just saying, my honest feelings. Good luck and good bye."

Seriously what had gotten into the mind of that boy? Really to be honest I enjoyed the session of real talking I just had with him, but no thanks I'd rather still live with his old self - muted but at least sound in the head. For now, he was bonkers. That's all I knew.

Jungkook's Pov

I could totally understand why Jae Eun didn't believe what I said. In fact if she had believed my words, I would faint. Because understandably to a normal human being, demons don't exist. And Jae Eun was a normal human being. Ok, maybe not so normal. But she's got to trust me. I'm not lying. Never have I ever lied to her in the meagre communications I have had so far with her.

"Jae Eun!" I ran after her desperately. For once, I felt that my fitness training sessions had paid off. This girl was really fast at running, I had to admit. Even I had problems catching up with her. Thinking quickly, I dropped my bag and caught up with her easily. I wouldn't need it anytime soon, I thought to myself.

"Jae Eun, wait!" I panted as I stood in front of her, blocking her way.

Jae Eun's Pov

"Jae Eun!"

For once, I actually felt proud in his presence. Proud in the sense that I had outwitted him in this aspect.

"Jae Eun, wait!"

Ok, maybe I said that a little too soon. I sighed as he appeared in front of me, without his bag. Did he really think I was going to entertain him?

"Jae Eun, please, just hear me out, I promise I won't be-"

Oh well, so he did think I was going to waste my time on him? Ok then, time to show him what my brains are for.

I turned a hundred and eighty degrees (you get what I mean) and began to walk off, a smirk forming on my face.

Was it just that I was unlucky today, or was he born lucky? Either way, I've been saying things too soon today.

Ok, perhaps I should blame his long arms or something. Because no sooner had I accomplished two successful steps away from him than he stretched out his other arm and rested it casually on the bookshelf just centimetres behind me. Great, now I was cornered.

Then I blame myself for walking so close to the bookshelf. I kept forgetting that there was one outside the library. Or rather, I didn't even know.

I felt the hard cold metal against my back as he leaned in closer. I tensed as he whispered, "Are you going to listen to me now...?"

"Hello, I need some personal space..."

He straightened up and folded his arms, leaving me some space to breathe, but none to escape.

"Now are you going to hear me out?" He persisted.

I sighed in defeat. "Fine." Better to get this over and done with...

"You're never gonna be able to outwit the Kookie Monster," He winked.

I rolled my eyes. Ok, his wink was cute but I'm not going to give in to temptation, given that I was already in a foul enough mood that day. "Yeah right, monster... perfect description of you." I attempted a comeback but failed. Because right after he said:

"Ahh, so now you believe that I'm a demon?"

I eyed him with a look of disbelief. God this boy... no one could stay angry with him for long.

He smiled. "You're ready?"

I groaned in frustration. "Get on with it for goodness sake, I've got homework to do."

"I could do it for you."

"Uhh... what? No thanks," I muttered quickly. I'd rather stay up till midnight or even later and do it myself than get a weird unsound boy to help me with it. And yeah, I've not forgotten - he's got enough practice with those stuff, I'm the one who needs it.

Besides, I'm not one of those couch potatoes who pay or bribe people to do their homework for them.

"A penny for your thoughts?"

"Shut up." I glared at him.

"May I begin now, then?"

"Yeah sure, and be quick with it."

"Ok, so I'm a demon," he began.

"I've heard that already, so stop wasting my-"

"And you're a demon slayer." He finished.

I blinked. "Wha-at?"

"I'm a demon,"

I blinked again.

"And you're a demon slayer."

Wow...

"Uhh... good joke... I guess..?" I stuttered uncertainly.

"Hey!" He called after me as I stalked off slowly.

Jungkook's Pov

Once again, I wouldn't expect her to believe me, but at least I had to get this one last message through to her.

Jae Eun's Pov

"Jae Eun I-"

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" I literally screamed at him.

"I've one last thing to tell you."

"Yes?" I eyed him warily.

"I was scared of you because-"

I nearly choked.

"-you're born to kill me."

Good joke.

"But then I've realised that you're really harmless despite your family background..."

Of course I'm harmless. I ain't a murderer you know.

"...you're just... special and... just.... special. You're different from any other girl I've met. You're... you're... I like you, Jae Eun."

And then his face reddened.

And he picked his bag up.

And ran off.
