Unconsciously greeting the guards along the way with a slight, and subtle nod, I made my way to the prince's quarters, with a platter stacked with all of the little things he likes to eat. I was a  little nervous, considering it was my first time trying to attempt a personal favorite, but I did manage to do so. "Your, highness?" I gently knocked on the door, three times before entering. When I  listened more carefully, I noticed he was snoring silently. He's sleeping.Just the thought of it reminded me of how childlike he still is. Placing my fingers on the nob, I slightly pushed it open as to not wake him up then entered casually. Looking for a place to put the dish, sudden movements of sheets being tossed, along with light groaning caught my attention.

"Your highness?" swinging my head to the side I saw the prince, just as he was before. Knocked out. I laughed. Finally, I placed the dish on the side table near his pillow thinking it'd be good to wake up to a delightful smell of food, when a slip passed by tired lips. "Thought you could just come in and leave without giving your cousin a morning wake up call, huh?"

I was honestly shook.

"You're awake?"

He jumped up, fixing his messy locks.

"Am now."

"Sorry..."

"No need to be." His lips soon formed a pleasant smile, despite not being a morning person. "Really, Kyri."

He turned at the subtle twitch of his nose, clear ciel colored orbs, shutting for only a second.

He must've smelt the food at the bedside." Oh, good morning breakfast." Noctis smiled, reaching over to grab the plate immediately. Within seconds he was digging in

"I'm glad you like it." Before leaving the room with a new light filling up my chest, i place my hand above my left breast, bow then head for the door. Though, today, out of many days, wasn't the happiest. Well for everyone else in the lands of Altissa, land of Lucis, and the capital of Tenebrae, and the exception of me.
Never the less, that event which left me a bit heart shattered, will pass overtime.

"Your bath is ready, prince Noctis." And in turn, i have to remain a cordial loyal servant, for the both of us.

And it burdens me to do so. "Kyrie?" Steps aways from the door, my hand stopped mid reach at his call.

"Yes, my liege?"

From the silent sounds in his presence it seemed, to quell this urgency.

"Hey, don't act like you don't know me."

"I shall apologize once more, given this is not the first we'd had this conversation. But i don't know what you mean." Before it was too late (for me) i left the room, closing the door gently with my fingers un-detached  from the nob. And at last, the feeling returns.

Insecurity.

There should be no time to waste. "Kyrie?" Ahead of me, was the current King, Regis. His stare deathens; chills through the bones. But reality comes to tell me, that i really do  not belong. "How is Noctis."

"He is doing well. As always–

"As he should be?" I nod, but my eyes do not return to meet his. "Yes, as he should be." And it was like this.

"Remember, as family, and close friend: this is for the best. What happened that day, and the proceeding night, was for but one purpose: to keep-

"Dear, cousin safe. Yes, I know."

But his words did not fail to sting. What happened those many odd years ago, still struck a few things out of place. And I guess that means, I was one of those things.
Let's see, since I was young, I knew of the separate destinies our line was supposed to take. The two fated lines, of Lucii and Flueret, which binds them together by fate. However— I —distantly related snd for whatever else reason, have been cursed, with a different gift. The eternal pride, of embracing the line of Ora Lucretius. Highly known, for a dawned upon magic that relies on the harmonious melodies of song, and light that breaks through even the thickest of dark hearts; communing with the spirits and pride; valor.

And up-lives the life of a servant, protector for the Lucis bloodline.

Nothing more. "Lest one forgets, what occurred in the past."  An eager voice inside of me wanted to shout out, it wasn't what it seemed like. But, that would've just been another lie. I, wanted it to be reality, but it wasn't.

"Yes, Uncle." And it confuses dear Noctis. It does.

He doesn't know, the truth.
