Blessing Perspective

"So he going with everything ya'll got going on ?" I nodded still not believing his response. He is willing to be a side piece. 

Alicia sighed shaking her head. " If I was you I'd drop that rock and get with the diamond."She stated grabbing her ice cream. Tonight was our Movie Monday,so we were waiting on Angelique. She decided to take a quick shower  before she joins since she had P.E. today. 

"Who's the Diamond ?" I asked already knowing the answer.

"August of course. You'd daydream bout dude all day long and now that he is here and you have your chance yo ass want to act all nonchantly, then you kiss this nigga and leave him for this dome shaped head ass nigga and when he agreeing to be your side piece you think its cheating."

"Because It is !"I yelled back laughing. "I don't do what you do licia. I can't cheat it isn't in my blood."

"It don't have to be in your blood. Baby It's all genetics."I threw my head back laughing at her crazy antics.She shrugged giggling moving her hair back from her face.

"But on a serious note, I'd take it. I mean you only live once so why not. You have how many more months ?"

"4 I believe." 

" So do this. Do what the heart wants game. You keep August as the side piece and keep Derrick as a side piece. Like a little  tally game. Whoever whens you over within the 4 months time span you choose who you want to be with. You will write down who treats and does you better by keeping tabs."I stank faced Alicia.

That will only cause commotion if word gets out or people find out about my little secret.I am a preachers kid who has a peaceful image to maintain. I will look like a preachers hoeing daguther. Either way it go, I will still end up cheating and it won't sit right with me. I just know it won't. 

"As I analyze your face, I sense you overthinking it. "She said rubbing her temples,sitting like buddah. 

"What you overthinking ? " Angel asked coming in sitting on the couch next to me.

"Ummmmmmm. " Alicia hummed. I rolled my eyes at her turning to Angel.

"She has this crazy Idea for me to cheat. "

"It is not. It's genius for people in her situation. "She immediately stopped humming and jumped up from her position, sitting right.

"I don't have a situation ." I argued,giggling.

"That's how you know i'm right. You giggling. "She smiled crossing her arms.

"Why are you so headstrong on this?t isn't even that serious."I asked genuinely interested.

"Because I'm your best friend. You know I live through you. I ain't got shit else to do."

"What do she want you to do ? " Angel asked. I gave her the rundown of what was going on and she listened intently until I was done unlike Alicia who would her two sense every three seconds.  

She arched her eyebrow sighing. " I know you may hate me, but I agree with Alicia. You really do need to get it together and it seem like your only option. You don't know what you want so what better way to do what Tyler Perry did in Alicia twisted version." 

Alicia smacked her lips. "Why it gotta be twisted ?" She asked throwing her arms up.

"Go Home. " Angel laughed. The Oven beeped meaning the cookies were done. We grabbed the chips and rotel and pressed play for Kermit Swap Years.

I slowly got up from the couch as the movie slowly came to an end, wrapping my blanket on my body to get warmer. 

"I'm headed to bed. I have work in the morning." I told Alicia. I grabbed the remote turning off the T.V.,setting it back down on the coffee table.

Alicia agreed yawning, Angel already sleep. I looked at her in awe,but a little hesistant in how to get her in the bed.

" You might as well leave her there...." she trailed off walking to the back to go to bed. I took my blanket off my body laying it on her body. I kissed her forehead,before walking off. 

Seeing Angelique reminds me of myself so much. She's been through a lot with her mom and not having any type of role model to be there for her. I'll just have to be that and to ensure that her mom doesn't try anything I'm gonna go down to the courts and get custody of her. 

I'd hate to see her again and see bruises once more cause she ran away from home to escape abuse and get caught by her mom boyfriend. I already know Angel loves her mom , but the things she does to her is crazy. I'd never hurt her or replace her but she needs to be nourish and I want her life to be better she's a good kid. 

I opened my door, going into my room. I dropped down on my bed, closing my eyes as August popped up in my mind.

I sighed. 

My phone vibrated, then it vibrated again. I hit my 'power ' button.

Two New Messages

I clicked on my messages about to die.

Tell me why August and Derrick texted me at the same time. I clicked August Message first then would go to derricks.

From: Aug Bear.

Wydn Love 

- 9:39 P.M.

To:Aug Bear.

Just finished Movie Night with Alicia and Angel . Wbu ?

-9:39 P.M.

From: Derrick. 

I can't go to the venue tommorow and check it out with you. I have things to do babe. But make sure you tell me how it goes.

-9:39 P.M.

What.The.Hell.

We both agreed that this was one thing we wouldn't miss. What is more important than us and what we have to do. Matter of fact if I ask his ass is Most likely gonna tell me to worry about it. So far he hasnt really been to any of the meetings except for the one yesterday. He has to be kidding me.Before I could reply, August texted me back.

Who is Alicia ? And what movie ?

-9:39 P.M.

To: Aug Bear

That is my bestfriend . And Kermit Swap years . Remember that movie ..

 Yeah girl. That's My shit .

All night long, we texted eachother and just enjoying eachothers company. Derrick not on my mind at all. But I didn't forget I got his Ass. On My Momma.
