Blessings Perspective.

I knocked on the door wore out from Brandons birthday dinner. When I say I was flustered I was.  I would be having a long conversation with Angelique in a little minute.

I had a good mind to just go home and lay out on my nice comfy bed , but I promised that I'd go over August house tonight to talk.

We needed to have this talk and I did want to be a little nosy about that woman that was at the place today. 

A faint 'coming ' echoed through the door.  It opened revealing a sleepy Aaliyah in August Arms. My eyes almost watered at the sight.

"She'a was waitin' on ya'.."he whispered. He stepped back for me to step in, closing afterwards. I sat my bags down by the door, taking aaliyah from him and cradled her kissing her forehead.

Looking at her sleep, made me feel some type of way, after what happened tonight I knew I had to let people know about what happened sooner or later.

"You good Bless? " he asked in a concerning tone. I nodded. I asked where was her room and settled her into bed.

Kissing her forehead one last time , I exited.

I walked up the stairs into August Room, knowing that's where he'd be. I opened the door and he was texting on his phone .

He glanced at me and sat it down in the dresser. He patted the bed for me to have a seat next to him;  I did such with no hesitation.

We sat in silence with my head laying on his shoulder, as he caressed my hand.

"I guess, I'll start because we needed to talk and you've said everything you've felt. I just hope you completely understand me. Unlike some ."I muttered on the last part.

He nodded.

"When I got pregnant, I was fresh out of high school and I was a PK. I was genuinely scared ,I had not one soul to run to except for ms. Rhonda."

"You'a talm' bout da' guidance counselor? "

"She's aaliyahs Foster parent. "I informed him. He scrunched his face up.

"I know, but when I go into dept you'd understand. "I gave him a pleading look, asking for him not to ask questions.

"When I got pregnant. I didn't know nor did I pay attention. I thought I missed my cycle due to stress.  I threw up one day and I felt nauseous I could only think about running to ms. Rhonda. She took me to my first appointment and it was official. I was so scared Auggie. It dawned on me that you we're official gone and I had nobody. " my voice cracked.

" I broke down in that room and ms. Rhonda comforted me. I went home and asked my mom about what she thought about teen pregnancy and she went all bibical on me. And she started saying if I was pregnant I'd be shunned from the family and I'd never see or hear from them. I'd be a disgrace. My job is to go on to college and all that. Then she started talking about Miracle saying how if she was alive she'd be so disappointed in me. So I went back and told Rhonda and we made a solution. I don't believe in abortion and she wanted a child at the time so I promised id let her have aaliyah. "

"Damn. " he mumbled.

"She said she'd take me to all my appointments and get me the things I needed and I'm forever grateful for the things she did for me. It wasn't easy hiding mg pregnancy but Rhonda made it work. When I had Aaliyah it was The second best day of my life. She was sooo  little and she fit the palm of my hand. She looked just like you. I decided that I had to keep her for at least a year, I waited till her first birthday to let her be adopted. "
