Chapter 20

Angelique Perspective. 

I did the combination to my locker putting my books for my previous classes up.  This period was lunch and I was kind of excited but nervous to sit by Will.  I won't lie it was something about him that I like. But I couldn't like him like that.  I love my bestfriend too much. 

Jesus.  Every lunch me and Lucas sit by eachother and talk.  We just be having time for ourselves.

I closed my locker door. A cold pair of hands fell over my eyes.

"Guess who? "I felt butterflies in the pit of my stomach form.

"Nope. " I said popping the 'p'.

"Well lemee give you a hint.  He is sexy as hell. Blonde hair, nice lips for the ladies to suck on and your bestfriend. "I shook my head trying not to laugh.

"Hmm. Doesn't ring a bell. "He smacked his teeth moving his hands. I spun on my heel meeting with his 6'3 frame. I kissed his cheek smiling.

"Hey bestfriend. "

He put his hand in my face playfully. "Nah you don't know me. "He said chuckling a little.  I smacked my teeth, smirking.

"Same way how I feel when you be trying to run game on these dusty ass hoes when we have plans.  I barely get a text back now. "I rolled my eyes playfully leaning against my locker.

But in all seriousness. We were beginning to drift a little.  I mean we still hang with each other, but not like we used to.  Rumors are spreading about him talking to  Alexandra Lewis.

The most known girl in school if you want to say, but a gold digger as well. Well to me.  She wasn't really paying no attention to Luca  until she heard about Lucas possibly getting a record deal. I mean no harm done she might be better than what rumors are saying. But it's sketchy as fuck to me.

He licked his lips leaning over me with his hand on the locker and other tucked away in his pocket."I do text you back when I have time. I be in the studio making music. You gotta forgive me. "

I looked down feeling a little nervous.  Lucas always intimidated me in some ways at times and is feel so small.  I mean I already am,but now I feel ant size.

Breaking my thoughts,he grazed his soft finger on my jawbone.I shivered at his touch.

"You cold or something. You need my jac-" i laughed a little.  I shook my head.

"No luca. I have to go to class now. "

"Alright baby girl .I'll see you in seventh. "He clasped his hands together.

I frowned at him tilting my head. "Why won't I see you at lunch? "

"I'm going to study for ACT practice.  I take it in December remember? " My mouth formed in a 'o' shape.

"Yeah yeah. "

"Lemme walk my lady to class. "He did a little footwork thingy like the man off of Mary Poppins and held out his hand.  I gladly took it and made my way to fifth.

Blessing Perspective.

I rolled up to angeliques school with a smile plastered on my face. Lunch with August was so fun and carefree. We laughed the whole time and Mr. Roy was really nice.  The paparazzi  was still there ,but ignoring them was kind of hard. 

I still don't get how's he's so use to it.

My phone rang in my pocket. I pulled it out swiping the bar over.

ME: "Hello? "

ALICIA:"Bih. Tell me why you all on instagram? "

ME:"Of course I am.  There's an account on there for the shop.

ALICIA:"No bitch. You tagged in a photo with August at a restaurant. Girl you bouta  be IG famous. " I frowned at the phone, seeing an incoming call from Derrick. 

I smacked my teeth.

ME: " hold on Alicia, somebody calling me.. " I switched over and greeted him blandly.

DERRICK:"What the fuck is this shit all on instagram ?"I pulled the phone away from my ear frowning.

ME:"First off, You need to watch your tone.  Don't be cussing at me. And I Had Lunch with August Today."I put the phone back up to my ear rolling my eyes.

DERRICK: "You couldn't warn me ? You got me over here looking dumb as hell."

ME: " I just Love how you try to make yourself relevant. It was an innocent Lunch in with an old friend."

DERRICK: "You keep trying to play me . You been acting up ever since that nigga came into the picture. Ya'll holding hands and shit. Like you ain't got nobody. "

ME: " I'm sick of yo ass. Trying to run me. When your stroke game become up to par,you can try to run me . ''

I hung up the phone,switching back over to Alicia.

ME: "Hello ?"

ALICIA: " Yeah girl. What he want ?"

ME: "Got the nerve to ask me about being with August. Word sure does spread fast."

Alicia Sighed.

ALICIA:" That's social media for you. But I'm gone see you in few."

We both said our goodbyes and hung up. The door opened revealing Angelique.

"Hey Blessing ." She reached over to hug me. 

"Hey baby . How was school ?"

She shrugged putting her seatbelt on. "It was cool. I turned in my paper."

I cranked up my ignition and went back towards the shop.

"How you think you did ?"

She nodded turning on her phone."Good. My English teacher wanted me to try this Writing program that's gonna be at Emory for the summer. I Just have to fill out my application and send it in before the end of the year." She explained.

I arched my eyebrow."Really ?"

She replied with an 'mhmm'.

"Well I hope you get in babygirl. August wants to take you out tonight by the way."

"Where we gonna go ?" She looked over.

"I don't know. Its a surprise."She clasped her hand with a smile.

I smiled back. Happy that I could make her smile.
