N I N E : Breaking Lights
M A Y A H A R T
Right as I plugged in my phone last night I took a small cat nap, but was rudely interrupted by my fellow roommates blasting music through out the room and, mostly Lucas, throwing a pillow at me on "accident".
I tried ignoring them, mostly him, but no use. Soon they turned off the music and left to meet our new teammates. They asked me to join, but I groaned a no and gave them shut up and go before I kick your ass look.
Once I heard the door creak shut, I sat up and unplugged my phone to find out that it never charged and the stupid outlet doesn't even work. I let out another groan and threw my phone to the end of my bed by my feet, and jump off the bed, landing on my feet.
As I adjust my wig, a loud sound echoes through out the camp. It sounds like a siren, but worse and louder.
"All teams and players head to cafeteria", a voice announces through a speakerphone.
I head out of the room and walk along a dirt path, followed by a few other players heading the same direction. So I assume I'm going the right way. I hug my body tighter as a cold breeze brushes by.
If I wasn't here, at this camp, I would probably be with Riley snuggled up by the bay window with thousands of blankets covering our body's and a warm cup of hot chocolate in our hands, watching the snow fall. But here I am, walking in freezing cold weather to a room full of ice cold boys with no snow in sight.
Finally, I reach the cafeteria. It's a one floor, wide building, with paint falling off the wood. I step inside to find that there is a small heater to my right, which tons of boys are hogging. I continue hugging myself, wandering around the room.
"Ash", I hear a voice call. I snap my head to the direction of where the voice came from to find that it is Zaroon. He is sitting on top of a table with a few other boys. Two of them include Lucas and Zay. "Ashton", Zaroon calls again, "over here!"
I take a couple steps towards them and give a small smile. I'm acting such like a girl! Ugh! "Hey, man", I speak with a low voice, the lowest I can do.
"Did your voice change?" Zaroon asks with a confused look on his face. "It seems lower."
"You know", I cough, "puberty".
"Wow", he says with wide eyes and lips forming a smile, "late boomer, huh?" All the guys- including him- laugh. I'm not sure what to do and just laugh with them.
"Yeah...", I trail off with a slight chuckle. "so... funny?"
"Anyways", Zaroon says, adjusting his glasses as he stops laughing, "I would like you to meet some of the guys. You know our roommates, but I just thought you would like to make, um, some more friends. Is that ah, alright?"
I just nod and he points to a guy to his right. "That's Jack. He's one of our outside line backers". I give a smile and he returns it. There is definitely some awkward tension in the room. Well, to me there is. I don't pay enough attention to Jack to observe him more. Instead, Zaroon points out another guy. "And this is Liam, my cousin."
This time, I actually observe the person. First I'm shocked Liam and Zaroon are cousins. I get you don't have to look a like to be cousins, but they don't even look related. For one: Liam has lighter skin than Zaroon; Two: Liam is more muscular and a bit shorter as Zaroon is more lean and tall; And three: Liam is just hot.
"Nice to meet you", Liam says, reaching out his hand for me to shake. I take his offer and mutter a hi. I keep my eyes away from him, afraid of drooling and jumping into his... oh so, good looking arms. I could just, you know- Oh my! What am I doing?
