here you go, the very last fic. hope you enjoy it.

The two boys were in a bed, under the covers, a metre of space between them. One was half asleep, the other wide awake trying not to make it obvious he was staring at the others fluttering eyelids. Jonathan sighed and rolled onto his back, the movement getting Evan to open his eyes.

"Jonathan?" He whispered, gaining the brunettes attention. Jonathan tilted his head and stared at Evan. Even though all he could really see was darkness, Jonathan still thought Evan was more beautiful than anything in the entire universe.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." Jonathan frowned, disappointed with himself. How could one, even though unintentionally, wake an angel and not feel bad about it? Evan watched as Jonathan had a battle with himself in his head.

"Don't apologise, I'm glad you woke me up, even though I wasn't exactly asleep." Evan smiled. He began to get up out of bed and Jon frowned even more. He's going to go sleep somewhere else, he's annoyed that I woke him up, he's pissed. That's why he's leaving. Jon's thoughts were running wild with negativity until he was lying on the bed, tears silently streaming down his cheeks.

Why did I have to be in love with my best friend? He will never love me back; he'd be disgusted if he ever found out. Why, why, why? Evan turned on his bedroom light and turned around to see Jonathan's red puffy eyes sprouting unwanted tears. Evan felt an immense sadness, seeing someone he cared so deeply about in so much pain.

Evan walked back to the bed, trying not to fall and burst into tears himself. "Jon? What's wrong? Please don't cry." He begged continuously until Jon took a deep breath and willed the tears away, for the moment. Jon stared at Evan for a few moments, trying to memorise his features before getting kicked out and told never to come near again. Before he loses him forever.

"Ev, there's something I need to tell you." Evan nodded, the most adorable confused look on his face. Jon felt himself smile looking at it. "I care about you so much. You're my best friend and I'd do anything for you. But I'll have to leave soon, you won't want me around anymore." Jon's eyes were filling with tears again, and only a second after so did Evans, his expression full of confusion.

"No, why would you say something like that? I would never leave you! Never, you hear me?" Tears were running down his face so fast he already had a headache. Jonathan stood up and started packing his bag once again while Evan sat on the bed and watched.

"You don't get it," Jonathan shook his head, staring at the wall, his t-shirt hanging by his finger. "I'm in love with you, Evan!" Jonathan yelled, turning his head around to look at the boy. "I'm in love with my best friend and he'll never love me back, it's so messed up. You are my whole world, my universe, but I'll never truly have you. I care about you so much; I'd die for you, hell, I'd kill for you."

Jonathan had stopped crying, he was filled with too much pain, too much anger to cry. He clenched his jaw, squared his shoulders and walked out of the room with his bag. Evan sat on the bed, staring at the pillow that had fallen to the floor in utter shock. Jonathan loved him back. But he didn't believe he loved him.

Evan frowned, finally looking up. He half expected Jonathan to be standing there still glaring at the wall, but he wasn't. He was gone. Evan stood up and ran, he ran as fast as he could, faster than he could. It had been around five minutes since Jon walked out, he couldn't have gotten too far without a car or even a ride.

His feet were sore, his toes cold, breath uneven, arms shaking and his cheeks red when he found Jonathan. The brunette was walking down the street with his bag over his shoulder staring at the ground, kicking a rock in his path. "Jonathan!" Evan yelled, but to no avail. His headphones were in, no doubt blasting music he usually loves to share with Evan.

"Jonathan!" Evan tried again louder, running faster. This time Jonathan's head lifted slightly before dropping again in lost hope. He was almost there, so close and-

Jonathan turned around, startled, "Ev-Evan?" His feet were sore, his toes cold, breath uneven, arms shaking and his cheeks red but at least his lips were warm against Jonathan's. "I love you, too, Jonathan. You are my whole universe."
