Chapter 17: Another One...?

Adam's POV

It had been a few, well, more like a few hours, of total silence, nothing to be said at all.

I then heard a door open, and some chains scraping against the ground.

"Get in there you thief!" The guard shouted, throwing someone into the cell with Cory and Christina.

As the guard left, I saw...a ghoul?!

Cory placed Christina down, sitting next to the chained up ghoul.

"Hey, my name-" "Shut up! I don't want to talk right now! I'm thinking!" She said, looking away from Cory.

"Uh, sorry?"

I knocked on the bars, getting her attention.

"A-are you a..ghoul by any chance?" I asked, her tilting her head in response.

"I, don't know if that's a yes or no there, what's your name?"

"Uh, Maryssa?" She stuttered, staring at my face.

"Is something wrong with my face?"

She shook her head, and continued staring at me.

I nodded and sat next to Uni, not leaving my eyes off her.

"Ah, already in love!" Uni exclaimed, jumping up and down.

I felt my cheeks go red as I shook my head madly.

"Oh, shut up Uni!" I shouted to him, crossing my arms.

"You know you love her!"

I growled at him and looked at her again.

"I scan your emotions are calmness, relaxed," He started, everyone looking at me. "And love!" That, made everyone just gasp.

"Say what?" Cory asked, standing against the bars.

I glanced over at Maryssa, noticing she had a hood on.

"I knew! I knew it!" Uni shouted, jumping even more up and down.

"Guys! I don't know what you're talking about! I barely know her!"

"Guys, shut up please. My sister is still sleeping."

Christina's POV

I heard people talking, so I opened my eyes. Everyone was just talking, but, someone else was there.

"Is that another ghoul?" I asked, everyone noticing I was awake.

"Uh, yeah, her name's Maryssa," Adam answered, looking at her.

He loves her alright, already see it!

"Wait, where's Nick!?" I shouted, standing up.

Everyone shrugged, except Maryssa.

"Ya' mean you're vampire friend?" She asked, looking down.

"Yeah, have you seen him?" Uni asked, but, Maryssa probably didn't hear him.

I had already gotten used to Uni talking, I'm not going to question it though!

"Is, that dog talking to me?"

"Have you seen him?" Cory answered.

She nodded, "Some shots in the lab. That's all I know, okay?"

"Oh well, my name is Christina!" I said, extending my hand towards her.

She lifted up the handcuffs, me nodding in response.

"Sup' kid?" She answered back, placing her hands on her lap.

I sat next to her. "Can you please tell me where he is? And what this place is doing to him?"

She nodded, looking at me. She was a ghoul like Adam, skin is rotting, eyes are odd, but they were calming to look at. Like a mother's eyes.

"From what I knew, they've never had a chance to get a bloodsucker, since they're good at hiding, you know?"

"Continue," Uni said, sitting down.

Maryssa looked at him, then shrugged.

"The Enclave do some pretty weird stuff with people and other things."

"Ya' think?" Adam and Cory said at the same time, making me giggle a bit.

But I then gasped. "What kind of horrible things!?"

"From looking at your clothes, you used to work for them. How do you not know?"

I opened my mouth to speak back, but no words would dare to come out. I looked down.

"Chrisy?"

I fought back tears, but spoke. "The scientist, guards, my old boss, no one would let me go into the testing area."

Maryssa's POV

She looked back at me, her eyes filled with pain and sadness, even though one was a camera.

A wave of guilt washed over me, she doesn't deserve to go through what I have.

I hugged her the best I could, since the chains.

"We'll get your friend back, alright? Just keep your head up." She nodded, hugging back.

The sound of a door was heard opened, then someone walking.

"Max!" Cory hissed.

"Morning! Now, since we want you guys to feel a bit better, we decided to show you someone!"

He opened the cells, taking out his gun of course.

"Oh, thief, you don't have to come if you want."

I looked at Christina, I can't leave her like my...

"I'm coming!" I exclaimed standing up.

He shrugged. "Let's go people!"
