LILYA’S POV

It seemed as if I only had a few hours alone before she returned, when in reality she returned in a week. Odd when she can be gone up to two moon cycles at a time, when I heard the chimes on the slay I knew it was her, no other object made such a light hearted sound, a sound I dreaded at the moment, but soon I rejoiced, she had a surprise for me!

Running to the window- which she never said I couldn't do, I peaked out at an angle where I could see her slay pulling onto the grey cliff of the village circle, she had something large with her in the driving area, that was mine- the canvases of multiple sizes could tell me that- but what was it. I bit my lip impatiently, I knew this thing would be good, in a way, but terrible in another, so what could it be?

I saw it, or him. It was a male, he looked fresh and lively, his face peaked out of a bundle of blankets, his cheeks and nose red from the cold, I held in a smile, he peaked out slowly, as if he did not want to aware Ba’thraishva. He was not a druj, I figured, their cheeks and noses never redden, and their skin is much more pale, which amazed me, ‘I thought I was the only one?’ His hair was black as the night sky, longer than most males around here wear their hair, it also was cut to have bangs in his face, slightly covering the left eye. He looked lost, confused and curious as well, I giggled.

He looked straight at me. His eyes a striking green- I could tell even from my chambers. As soon as our eyes met his demeanor changed, as soon as he blinked his eyes were emotionless. The Queen finally quit her conversation with her now humanoid naxtaru and was making jestures toward him, he looked from her to me quickly I looked at her and shook my head, then pointed at him, waved my hands in a way to say ‘no’ and then pointed at me. I prayed to the sky he would understand.

I believe he did since he nodded and returned to staring into the abyss I turned away as a long scaly white arm reached over to grab a large tabby, seeing his horrified reaction before I walked to the other end of the room and returned to sketching random kittens.

ALEC’S POV (promise not much switching but had to since he is so new, his pov is important ☺ his will always be in third person, Lilya’s in first, it was only in third cause it was in the beginning of her life)

‘A girl? They actually have a girl here, and were telling the truth. Oh dear God I hope she is okay.’ Alec thought, sincerely concerned about the pretty brunette girl he saw out of a window. She was quite a site, no older than him with her long brown hair braided to the side, long enough to reach her elbow being pulled around, her hazel eyes similar to his own, but he could see they were a darker shade. She was someone he wouldn’t even thing about at home, she would most likely be swallowed up by the preps or other popular groups, and totally ignore his group- the artistic/gothic group.

He smiled, not his usual smirk as he thought about her, she had caught him off guard gawking at the destination and giggled, his thoughts were brought to a halt however as that woman turned to him and lifted his chin up with a cold finger. She turned his head this way and that,  as he glared, wondering if his green eyes could possibly shoot out arrows or spears of some sort so he could take this girl away as the weird beast-men and women could mourn her death…

“You know it is futile to struggle, so why not just do as you are told, so when we are done with you maybe I might just let you live and go back to your ‘gig’.” She said, “I will be nice as long as you do.”

“Yes ma’am.” ‘Might as well go with it, right?’

As soon as he agreed he was pulled to his feet and untied, “If you run those beasts guarding the bridges will gladly make a meal out of you.” A husky male voice whispered in his ear and chuckled.
