“Thanks Mike” Andy said while getting off Michael’s car.

Michael had been true to his word and had driven us home. Like always we dropped Andy off first.

I waved at Andy as Michael started the car again and began driving me home.

“So?” Michael said suddenly. “What did you find?”

“Well we found a few dresses that I liked but nothing really convinced me” I stated with a frown. “However, I need something because its tomorrow night so I got a beige dress.”

“I’m sure you look absolutely beautiful.”

“You have to say that, you’re my boyfriend” I said with a laugh.

“Well, I say that because it doesn’t even matter if you where stinky and wearing shitty ass clothes.” Michael said without looking at me. “You would still be the best looking girl to me.”

I smiled a smile that showed my love and affection for this guy and leaned over to kiss him lightly on the cheek.

“You remember the time you asked me out?” I said suddenly.

Michael glanced at me quickly. “Uhh of course, I was sure you were going to shoot me down”

“I don’t know why, everyone knew I had a major crush on you” I said with a laugh.

“Yeah I guess I never noticed until you said yes with a shriek and pretty much jumped me right there and then:” Michael shot a grin at me.

I blushed but shot a grin back. “Well you remember how you asked me?”

I didn’t even give him a chance to respond. “You said ‘Livanny, I just want you to know I have never liked anyone as much as I like you, I might even feel a bit of love towards you. And I want you to know if I receive a “no” as an answer, I’m pretty sure I’m going to go home crying. Will you be my girlfriend?’.”

“You remember every word?” Michael asked surprised.

“Of course! You made me the happiest girl ever that day. And now, three and a half years later, I still consider myself the happiest girl, thanks to you.” I responded with a deep blush.

By now we were parked in front of my home. Michael grabbed my chin lightly and turned my head so that he could kiss me. And in that kiss I felt what first, true love was. Michael was after all my one first love.

“So are you staying for dinner?” I asked breathlessly. “Daddy keeps asking about you.”

“The old man wants me to beat him at basketball again?” Michael said with a huge grin.

I laughed and slapped him. My dad was just as in love with Michael as I was. He took every chance he got to invite Michael out with him, to play basketball, to go golfing, fishing, sometimes even to help out in his office.

“Come on, your lover awaits” I said with a wink while getting out of the car.

Michael’s deep laughter thundered as I walked up the stone path that led to the entrance of my home. Michael ran up ahead and carefully cut a rose from the flowers that adorned the path.

“For my lady” Michael said dramatically as he bowed and offered me the rose.

“My, I am flattered indeed” I responded with a curtsy and took the rose.
