I had been traveling for about an hour when I started to see a cobblestone path. I had made it. The path lead to a market place filled to the brim with people. Weapon menders, chefs, traders were cramped inside tiny stalls.
I decided to buy some food. I stepped up to a vendor. She was a short, skinny woman, no older than 20. She wore a wide smile on her face. "Hello, dear. What would you like?"
Displayed in small sections were a variety of fruits and vegetables. I pointed to the apples. "Three apples please."
She picked out the biggest apples and stashed them into a cloth sack. "Four coins please," she said handing the bag over.
I reached into my belt and pulled out some loose coins. "Thank you."
I politely grabbed the bag of fruits and put it into my satchel. Next I went to the weapon repair shop. I really needed an upgrade on my bow if I were going to be accepted into a clan. I took my bow and placed it on the counter. A tall man turned to see me. He took the fragile stick of a bow in his massive hands and examined it.
"Upgrade?" He asked.
I nodded my head. He turned back around to his work station and started his task. After a few minutes, a girl a bit older than me with mid-length blonde hair stormed up to the stall. "Robert!" She exclaimed. "You better have finished my sword by now!"
'Feisty,' I thought. The girl was dressed in all black, with a long midnight colored cloak. She pulled the cowl up, covering most of her hair. What really caught my attention was the deep red gem that rested on her collar. It took me a moment to realize that I was staring right at the girl, and that she was staring back at me. "What are you looking at?" She snapped. I quickly flicked my gaze to the cobbled ground.
