I sigh as I sit at dinner with Anton, Felix, Kale, and Luca while my father is on the phone in the hall. "What do you mean you saw Gilbert in the city? He's in the basement. He couldn't have gotten out." Father says and we all stiffen. "Rose, eat." Luca whispers and I sigh as I take a bite of the chicken stir fry. Eat, eat, eat. That's all he ever talks about... then again if he didn't I'd probably forget about eating five meals a day. "I'll go check on him. But I'm telling you that he is down in my basement. There is no way he could've broken the chains." Father says and I hear the basement's keypad beeping. I start shaking and Luca hugs me with one arm. "He won't touch you, Rose. We promise." Anton whispers and I hear my father's screams. Oh God. It's happening.

I hear him storming our way and cease my shaking for the sake of my baby. My father storms in and immediately looks to me. "Rose what the hell did you do?" He asks and I frown in confusion as Ric runs in. "Vince what happened?" He asks and my father glares at me. "This little bitch let out Gilbert Two Tricks!" He yells and Ric looks to me shocked. "What?! I don't even know who that is!" I argue and my father goes to lunge at me but Ric slams him against the wall. I gasp when Ric puts his right arm against my father's throat. "My child is in her stomach!" Ric yells and my father scoffs. Whoa, if Ric will protect me when he thinks it's his child... What will he do when he learns it really belongs to Alek? "Ric she let out Gilbert Two Tricks!" He yells and Ric scoffs. "Get a grip, Vince! There's more than just her in this house. We left eight people here alone! Any one of them could have let him out! It doesn't matter anyways. He's after fucking Lillian. The only reason he watched me was because I offered her a home in exchange for help. We're fine. He won't go to Alek and Vitaly. He's not that fucking retarded." Ric snaps and drops my father.

My father glares at me and then looks to Ric. "If I see one more fucking thing moved in my damn office. That baby is dying." He snaps and storms out of the kitchen. Ric turns to me and sighs as he sits to my right while examining me. "Are you okay? Did he hit you before I came in?" Ric asks and I simply shake my head no. "Come on. I don't want you down here." Ric whispers and pulls me upstairs to our room. "I'll get you some more blonde hair dye tomorrow." He says and throws me a pair of footie pajamas making me frown. Where did these come from? "You said you were cold." He tells me and I nod as walk into the bathroom. I take off my clothes and put on the footie pajamas before walking out to see him in his own pajamas while holding a purple velvet box. Oh God.

I sit next to him and he slides the engagement ring on my finger. "You're mine." He whispers and kisses my cheek. He's acting as if he didn't just fight my father to protect me. "Ric?" I whisper and turn to face him. "Why are you protecting me now? You've never done it before." I sigh and he smirks. "Because you're taking care of more than just you now, Rose. If I hurt you I might kill my daughter." He replies and I frown. Daughter? He thinks my baby is a girl? "Besides I prefer to be the only one to punish you." He adds and I sigh as I lie down. "Get some sleep, angel. It's gonna be a long night." He whispers and turns off the light. I feel him wrap his arms around me and sigh as I close my eyes. I wish it was Alek. I need him tonight. I need someone to tell me it's going to be okay.

In the morning I put on a navy blue jumper with loose black pants and black sneakers before I head downstairs to the kitchen. I stop when I hear Lillian's voice though. "How could you let him out?! He could kill me!" Lillian yells and I hear my father scoff. "I could give two shits about you. I care more about him killing Ric. I need his money if I'm going to kill Vitaly and his idiotic son." My father snaps at her and hear a smack. My mouth drops into a small 'o' and I put my hand over my mouth. She just smacked him! "Touch me again and I'll be the one to kill you Lillian. You already gave me all the safe houses I needed last night and the escape routes they installed. You are useless to me now. Don't forget that." My father snaps and I hear him storm out from the other kitchen entrance.
