"Pfft, look at her!"
"She's trying so hard, and yet she still can't do it!"
"What a cringe!"
"More like a pig!"
We all snorted in laughter, imitating the sounds of a pig, directing it toward the girl trying her best to do ballet. Her name was Serena Williams, downgraded girl in the school, along with her piglets.
I know what you are thinking, but that's not me, I'm not a pig, unlike her.
I am Skyler Lee, the most über popular girl in the entire community here! I refuse to talk to anyone else except my own group of friends, whom I expect to only be with me because of my standing here. I don't like nerds or poor people, but I do like all the boys! Who wouldn't here?
Anyways, right now we are in ballet class; and elective that all girls must take here, we also are making fun of the poor girl, who's feet are not quite as nimble as mine. I, in fact, am the best ballet dancer here; I already won three awards this year!
Everything fell quiet as the teacher clapped her hands and forced a stop to the class.
"Alright! That's it for this group, next one up please!" The teacher called as the previous group of kids moved out of the area.
As we moved up, I turned to look at Serena. I chuckled to make her day a little worse for her. She didn't turn but I saw her eyes narrow as she walked off. Psh, such a creep! Some say she lost all of her friends and went crazy; crazy because she apparently has "Demons" haunting her.
Moving onto the floor, I stood up strait and awaited directions.
"Alright class! We'll start with out routine training!" The teacher announced, then looking to me. "Skyler, I expect the best out of you. Although I shouldn't be saying such nonsense!" The teacher nodded then laughed.
I gave out a forced laugh as the music began, and I put my hands above my head and started.
Step back, sidestep, sidestep, up strait, twirl up high then down low, throw my whole body into it!
"Go with the rythm!" The teacher yelled over the music.
I stepped around softly on my toes, twirling elegantly and letting the soft music move my body. The music seemed so smooth and gentle as I danced, I could barely even hear the teacher say it was time to stop.
"Alright, alright!" The teacher clapped her hands, announcing the ending of class.
I stopped softly and the teacher flashed a smile at me, letting me know I did well today.
"Until tomorrow, my ducklings!"
I grouped back up with my friends as the bell rang.
"That was literally the shortest time I ever had on the floor!" Alana said with disappointment.
"It's because all of those hogs out there kept stepping out of line, taking up all the time, ya know?" I replied in disgust.
"Yeeeaaasssss." Alana and Eve replied.
"They are all so gross! All sweaty and out of shape!" Penny scoffed.
"Why you all so worried about that stuff?" Talia asked, "we have history next, and seriously we have that old Japanese guy coming in today."
"Eww, I hate old people! Full of wisdom my ass." I rolled my eyes at the thought of old people, especially old men.
"I heard from the class yesterday that this guy tells the most boring story! Like, something about when he was a boy and he met this creature thing! Oh, it sounds so fake!" Sonia told us briefly.
"Old people, full of Amnesia and Alzheimer's!" I said.
The girls all laughed as we marched down the hall to class.

...

I sat down at my desk, awaiting for the teacher to calm us all down. I've seen this old man by now, he looked a little strange if you asked me.
He was old of corse, wearing a red robe of some sort, he had the facial features of a Japanese man and tattoos covered his skin all over.
I can just imagine how this story will go.
"Alright class! Settle down! Today we have a very special guest!" The teacher gestured toward the old man, "this is Hanji Himoto, a man from deep within the heartlands of japan!"
The old man known as Hanji Himoto folded his hands together and gave a slight bow of respect to the teacher for introducing him.
The teacher gave a bow back then turned back toward the class, "as many of you have heard, Mr.Himoto will be telling us a story from his childhood; a story many of the elders still tell to this day." Our teacher explained.
All that was on my mind was, 'Ugh, get it over with!'.
"Now, I expect no interruptions and I want all eyes to be up here!" The teacher demanded, "Mr.Himoto." The teacher gave a nod to Mr.Himoto.
Mr.Himoto turned to the front of the class and took a long deep breath with a smile upon his face.
"Long ago, back when I was a child, beasts known as Chimera's roamed the lands of Japan. To us, they were known as the Trico; a man eating beast.
The Trico was feared upon many. The stories of missing children and men that have been taken by the Trico have spread everyday. I was one of the many who did not fear the Trico, for I did not believe in its existence; until a faithful day I was face to face with one myself."

...

The final bell of the day has finally rung, leaving kids pouring out of the schools front doors.
The story that Mr.Himoto told us left the class utterly bored, but some kids, such as Serena, seemed to be amazed at the old bag's story.
Right now I was texting my boyfriend. We were being all cutesy, he's making me all hot and bothered just walking down the hall.
Right as I was about to exit the doors, a pair of arms wrapped around my waist and forcefully dragged me outside. I didn't struggle, I knew who it was. I giggled as I was pulled around the corner of the school and brought into a narrow alleyway. Looking up, I was greeted by a pair of amazing blue eyes; Ben.
"What're you doing?" I asked in mid-giggle.
"I don't know, I saw a beautiful girl and thought I should snatch her up while I could." Ben replied, flashing a smirk at me.
"Well, you made the right choice~." I whispered to him.
"I'm about to make a better one soon~."
Ben cupped his hands around my rear and sqeezed, making me jump.
"Ben!" I gasped.
"Aw, you know you liked that!"
I tilted my head to the side, "alright, maybe a little."
Our conversation broke off when we decided to have a hardcore make-out session in the open.
Fake coughs could be heard up ahead.
"Slut!"
I tore my face away from Ben's to look over.
Serena could be seen not far from here, pretending to cough as she texted on her phone.
I broke away from Ben and started to march toward Serena, until Ben grabbed my wrist.
"Babe-"
"I can handle this on my own, thank you!" I ripped my hand away from Ben and walked up to Serena.
"Listen up, you pig! I don't know who you think you are, but you ain't fooling anyone with your shit! I'm higher up than you, I can ruin your entire life!" I growled at her.
Serena didn't even look up from her phone.
"Are you even listening to me?!"
I then realised she had earbuds in.
Gritting my teeth, I reached into her hair and grabbed the earbuds, then ripping them out of her ears. Serena gave out a pained gasp at the action.
"Yeah, how'd that feel? It's what you get for calling me a slut, you pig!" I scolded.
"Maybe if you tried to be nice and actually consider others feelings, maybe even back off a little, nobody would be calling you things like a slut!" Serena yelled at me.
"The thing is, nobody calls me that! Because I'm the most popular, hot, and smart kid you'll ever know, and you are the exact opposite!" I countered, getting in her face.
"I don't care what you call me! All that matters is what others think, and nobody ever thinks good of you!" Serena yelled.
"And you think people think good of you?! You're just a trash mouth with imaginary friends!" I yelled back.
"They're demons, and they are real!"
"They should put you in a mental home!"
"You should be in a whore house!!!"
"Why don't you go and live with the pigs, where you belong!"
"Why don't you just leave everyone alone and take a hint?!"
"Take a hint?! Here's a hint for you!" I screeched as I raised my fist up.
Time seemed to have slowed. Serena's eyes went from angry to surprised, kids all around had their jaws gaping. Was I really just about to hit someone?
Before my fist could meet Serena's face, it was stopped by a hand. Serena stood with her eyes wide as she stared at the two hands in front of her.
I looked up and saw Mr.Himoto standing with his hand stopping mine. He looked over to Serena.
"Go." He said vaguely.
Serena nodded and ran off down the road. I watched as she ran, my anger rising. Whipping my head back to Mr.Himoto, I tore my fist away.
"What's the big idea, ya old bag?!" I angrily yelled.
"You almost hit an innocent child." Mr.Himoto replied blankly.
"Innocent, my ass! She was picking a fight, calling me unnecessary names!"
"She spoke of the truth." Mr.Himoto told me.
Kids all around started to laugh at his words, leaving me to double back, full of offense.
"She asked of you to take a hint. Why not?" He asked.
"Wha?" I narrowed my brow, then shaking my head. "Listen, I don't know what-"
"Be among the chosen one." Mr.Himoto interrupted.
"Excuse me?" I asked.
Mr.Himoto gave a bow, then turning to walk off without another word.
I found myself in a whirl of anger and thought as in stood in that school parking lot.
'Be among the chosen one.'
I didn't know those words would later be back to haunt me.
