"thanks for taking me in. i really appreciate it." she whispered, stalking around the living room.                

"you're welcome. can i ask you a quick question?"

"go ahead." she said, sitting down on the couch. she picked up the rubix cube i left on the table and played with it.

"uh....how can i say this? why were you sitting on the side of the road?" 

she looked taken aback before responding, "i like it there. it's peaceful, you know?"

i wanted to respond no, i don't know at all. but i smirked and said, "yeah."

"and besides. i've never had a boyfriend before." she said, smiling. she fiddled with the cube some more. my eyebrows knitted together.

"boyfriend? who said i was your boyfriend?"

she only laughed a very creepy laugh. and from then on, i knew i made the wrong decision of taking her in.
