Chapter 10

Carters POV

I couldn't wait any longer for Chief Chandler. I decided to go in the building on my own and look for Jess. I was pretty sure she would be in there but I didn’t know where. I searched the first floor and found nothing next was the basement.

It looked like people had lived down here. There was a old couch and a few chairs. There was no one here so I continued to look farther. I saw a big metal door that was chain locked from the outside. I opened it. I finally found her. She was curled up in the corner sleeping with her hair a mess and her arms and legs bound by rope. The swung back and hit the wall and made such a loud noise that she woke up.

when she saw me there she started to cry. I didn't know what to do so I just ran up to her and tried to take the duck tape of her mouth. She winced every time I pulled. But when the duck tape was off she cried harder and said something that made my heart sink “They killed the baby.” I was so mad but I needed to get her out of here now before they came back.

I didn’t have the chance. The second I turned around there was a squad of police officers blocking the way. The told me to lay on the ground and put my hands behind my head. I obeyed but I kept trying to tell them who I was and they told me there was no one by that name in the system. They found out who I was.

They took me down to the police station where I was in a complete daze. I never thought I would be found this way.

Jess's POV

Again he was taken from me I didn’t even get to say goodbye. I tried to explain it wasn't him but they would not listen. I cried for a long time before the anger set in. I tried my hardest to prove it wasn't him. I tried to get proof by looking through my car that he used to find me and I found the pile of the pictures. I also got my parents to testify that he would never do this after I explained to them I was never with him visiting his parents.
