"Dear Mr. Grey, we are pleased to inform you that your daughter Celia Grey has been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The term begins on September 1, we expect your owl no later than July 31. Please find the enclosed list of all necessary books and equipment."

"DAAAD?" Celia shouted looking quizzically at the letter, almost sure it was a joke.

"What's wrong sweetheart? Did you get the mail?" He asked, as he crashed around the kitchen, making dinner.

She walked into the room, her mouth agape. "Um.. I think you need to look at this?"

He walked away from his boiling sauce to see the letter, "Oh my. Hogwarts? I haven't heard that name in quite a while, much before your mother passed."

"Dad, elaborate please?"

He sat down and rubbed his head, "This is going to take quite a bit of explaining, you might want to sit down dear."

She sat.

"Well, you see, oh my, how do I break this gently. I don't believe there's a good way too, so I'll go ahead and say it, there are witches and wizards in this world and this letter has confirmed that you are in fact one of them, just as you're mother and I suspected you would be."

Celia turned that over in her mind, she was a witch? It wasn't the first time someone had said that but mostly because they didn't like her and weren't allowed to say the 'b word'.

"And because of this Hogwarts, one of the most prestigious wizarding schools has contacted us because of your age and your talent. Oh dear, I'm going to miss you," he leaned over and hugged her.

She pushed him back a bit,"I'm confused, how do you know this and I don't?"

"Your mothers families had a few witches and wizards mixed into it. Your great aunt Barbra, your mothers half sister Louise, Grandpa Pat and Grandma Wilma and even Sebastian."

"Sebastian's a wizard?! That explains so much actually.."

"I'll explain more about this later but we need to get your supplies and send your letter, I should probably buy an owl now that I think about it, and you'll need one too, and maybe a cat if you want one? Oh this is exciting!"

Celia let that all run through her head, she was a wizard, she had relatives that were wizards, she was going to a secret school for wizards, and she was only 11. She had no higher level math, oh jeez, she hoped wizards didn't have to do math, and what about learning a new language? She would have trouble with that! It was wonderfully ridiculous, she was scared of bugs and snakes! And they probably had dragons! This was crazy...
