The boy next door (growing love)

Chapter 1

* beep beep beep*
'Ughhhhhh' I thought to myself, 'just another typical morning ' while forcing my lazy ass to get off the bed.
"MADELINE BARLEY" I heard screaming coming from downstairs then rapid footsteps trailing behind.
*BOOM* my door was busted open and a large creature landed on me.
"DUDE WHAT THE FUĆK" I screamed at the creature above me. By the way the creature's name was Alex Winston, my best friend since we were born. Our mothers met each other in college as roommates , they became best friends and Inseparable ever since.

A little about myself, my name is Madeline barley, I'm 16 and turning 17 in march I am a sophomore at Roosevelt high school. I'm the type of girl that you can call "nerd" I have straight A in school, I never do anything outrageous, I don't drink or get in to fights. I have a pretty good reputation at school. And about Alex? He's my childhood Best friend, he's the captain of the football team, he has perfect abs and no matter how hard I try to denie it but I have a massive crush on him since the 8th grade... maybe one day I'll tell the story on when I fell in love with him later on but for now? Let's just get on with this.

I felt arms around me tickling me I squirmed and tried to run away from Alex but he was way more stronger than me so he held me in place. "Stop moving" Alex said with a stern voice. I look into his coffee brown eyes and laughed. Alex puts his arm under my knees and back and lifted me up like a feather. "Hurry uppppp we're gonna be late!!! Get ready in 5 minutes Madeline!" Alex yelled while putting me down in front of my closet. "I'll wait for you down stairs in the car! Bye mom!" I heard Alex yell while running downstairs. Yes he calls my mom his mom as well and I do the same as well.

I got ready and picked out a pair of leggings and a black and white flannel shirt with a maroon t shirt underneath I had a silver necklace that went perfectly with the outfit so I picked that out as well.

I didn't do much about my hair, I had ombré brown hair but I just let it fall onto my shoulder with its natural curls. After picking out my outfits i did my makeup and brushed my teeth to head downstairs.

I'm not a big breakfast person but Alex always makes me eat breakfast "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" as he always says, I chuckled as the thought of him saying that.

I went down to the kitchen and saw my beautiful mother preparing our breakfast and carefully putting them in little zip lock bags. She made Alex and I 's favorite garlic bread with cheese!!!

"I love you mom!" I yelled as I grabbed our breakfast and walked out the door. I walked out and the first thing I see is Alex rocking out to Green Day's newest album revolution radio. He was a hardcore Green Day fan but so was I so what can I say about that:)
I knocked on the window and he unlocked the door for me, I hopped in the car and handed Alex his breakfast.
"Here, mom made you your favorite" I said and chucked it at Alex's gorgeous face.

"YES! GARLIC BREAD WITH CHEESE" Alex yelled like a little kid getting a candy bar, he was a child at heart.

This is almost every single morning for us, Alex is a great friend, our friendship is interesting because we kind of have a flirty but friendly relationship;) don't think too far, we are not friends with benefits, we're great friends but I mean flirting a little does no harm, right?

Alex drove on and turned on the radio after he devoured the bread like a monster. Alex drives a navy blue jeep with fire designs spray painted on the side of the doors. It totally matches his personality, cool and hot.

I sat in the passengers seat quietly eating my breakfast while listening to Alex singing, he wasn't too bad of a singer honestly.

I jumped when I felt Alex's hand on my thigh, I looked up at him and saw a small smirk on his face. I shakes my head slowly and kept eating my breakfast. His hand started sliding slowly up my thigh and I felt my face heating up, I yelled "CHICKEN!" I heard Alex's loud laugh followed by a "HAHA. I WON " we always play this game when one person slides their hand up the other person's thigh until they can't take it and yell chicken. As I said, we had a interesting friendship.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of school, I hate the fact that starting from the moment you step into Highschool everything started to become about judgement and whether you wore the right cloth, right makeup and HANGOUT with the right people. I hated that. But Alex and I were different, were 2 completely different people who just some how get along perfectly. To be honest If staring at someone could kill I'd been killed a million times by those girls jealous of Alex and I our friendship.

I watched Alex park the car next to his buddy frank. I loved how Alex's arm flexes when he parks the car, the way he hold onto the steering wheel. How focused he was on the road, but somehow still be humorous at the same time.

"You okay Mads ?" I heard Alex asking in a caring voice, I didn't realize I was spacing out. " ya, I mean yes I'm alright, let's go to where nightmares are made" I laughed and got out of the car.

"Piggy back?" Alex looked at me in a piggy back position. "Yup!" I yelled and jumped on his back. I head him groan. He lost a bet to me a week ago and giving me a piggy back ride to my class everyday for the next month was what we were betting for. So here we are. "You need to lose some weight you pig" I heard Alex murmur under his breath. I jumped on his back "what did you say?!" Alex groaned once more "nothing, your HIGHNESS". "That's what I thought" and petted Alex's head.
