Chapter 2

      The sun melted into the horizon from the top of the mountain. You and Frisk had gotten lost, slowly making your way into the darkest parts of Mt. Ebott. Frisk, at one point, had dashed down a naturally carved path. You, of course, followed in a haze. Many times you called out to them fearfully. They seemed to be very unreadable, much to your chagrin, and this left you on edge many times when they had that similar small smile. Darting past trees you had barely noticed the worn out paths, as if someone had walk this way for many years. 

        You froze in your running as a dark foreboding cave was just a few feet away. Pure dread plastered your face.There was no way you were ignoring the raw survival instinct to turn around at the sight of the black inky hole in the side of the mountain.

        'Did Frisk really just run into that dark, scary cave?! Where is his brain today!'

        Usually Frisk was the one pulling you from danger, I guess it was your turn to repay the favor. You begrudgingly entered the cave shrinking into yourself. Nervously glancing around, you sheepishly peep out, "F-frisk!" It echos gently off of the cave walls. Your boots made a light thumping sound that resonated with your heart beat.

        You stopped dead in your tracks. Frisk was poised in a jumping position at the edge of a steep cut off. You gasp, eyes widening in shock. This little kid had lost their mind today! Your tiny friend was NOT about to jump into that empty black abyss! Anything could be down there and you two weren't that desperate, yet.

        Determination filled you and you dashed toward them. You only meant to grab their arm but, being the klutz you were, ended up tripping on a simple rock (small, too), tumbling down the hole with your tiny friend now smashed into your chest.

        You slammed your eyes shut clutching them close and making your back vulnerable to the harsh impact. They looked up at your petrified face from your arms before quietly snuggling deeper into your iron tight grip. Maybe you'd pass out from fear before you crashed into the unforgiving ground...
