I picked up Rian and thanked Sarah about 200 times for watching her.

"No problem, love. Me and Ri had a great time, right?"

Rian nodded and smiled. "We played dress up and Sar let me do her makeup!" She said excitedly.

"That's great!" I said, sounding really happy for once. I mouthed one last thank-you as I slipped out the door of her flat.

I hooked up my phone to my car stereo and started playing Nicotine by Panic! At The Disco.

Rian passed out in the car on the way home even though it was only like a 5 or 6 minute drive.

I carried her inside, trying not to wake her and let her nap while I went to call Liam.

I tapped on his name on my contacts and it started dialing him.

He picked up, breathing heavily.

"Shut up, i'm trying to talk to Ally!" He yelled to what sounded like Niall and Louis.

"Hey." He said to me, his breath steadying more.

"Hey, what are you doing?" I asked.

"Practicing. last concert is tonight." He said.

"I can't wait to see you." I said.

"I know, I miss you like crazy. How's Rian?"

"Good, she's having a nap right now."

As if on cue, Ri walked in.

"Who are you talking to mummy?"

"Was that Ri? Can't i talk to her?" Liam asked.

I handed the phone to Rian.

"Hello?" She said, sounding more like 'hewwo'.

There was a pause.

"Hey daddy!!" She said, her face lighting up instantly.

Another pause.

"I miss you."

Pause.

"Ok daddy!" She said, giving the phone back to me.

"I gotta go babe-sorry. I love you, Ally!" He said right as I pressed it to my ear.

"Love you too, see you in a few days?"

"Yeah! bye babe."

A click signaled that he had hung up. I looked at my phone and sighed. I still loved him more than anything on the planet except our baby girl Rian. We just barely talked and when we did I couldn't think of what to say or how to say it.

"You should be home for your child. she barely knows you."

I could say those things but I never do.

Instead I just fill it with "I miss you" & "I love you" as if it's enough.

But I don't think it is.
