The leader finally bought his eyes back to Jellal, "ladies first."
Jellal finally smirked back. As a group the amount of magic power coming off of them was powerful, but not powerful enough. And the leader doesn't probably know enough to counteract his spells. But that didn't mean Jellal could be cruel. Now was truly the time for him to prove himself to world, his friend and to himself. That he could save the world, a piece at a time. And even a life, even if they did deserve to die.
"Very well," Jellal agrees, moving a foot back to brace his body, "Heavenly Body Magic: Meteor!" In a few seconds Jellals body turned yellow and became a large blur as he sped at impossible speeds around the group.
"Did he just say what I think he said?" One of the goons from the dark unicorn asked, his voice filled with worry, not only for their leader but for his own life.
The leader rolled his eyes, "don't worry you imbecils. I have a plan." It was then the leader started attacking back with his own magic. Barely holding his own against Jellal. His spells were powerful, but barely.
Ultear and Meredy wanted to watch the fight without getting involved. They knew Jellal was holding back and the fact that he was still winning made them proud. But the goons behind them were a bigger issue. Many of them were the two of them, in return, their eyes never left the goons. Only a few looked back onto the fight or back towards you or the girl still sobbing behind them. But both had a bad feeling. They had heard the leader declarations about the plan...But what was it.
So, Meredy kept counting the heads. There were 7 goons and the master of the guild. Some kept shifting on their feet as if they were waiting for a signal. Only the light from Jellal's magic lighting up the scene showed how anxious they were. Very anxious.
Jellal was bored of the leader's petty attack and swopped across the ground. Sweeping his feet out from under him. The guild master went flying forward and landed face first in the dirt, a long skid mark behind him.
"Give up?" Jellal asks him. Spitting out the dirt from his mouth, the leader slowly stood up. He dusted the dirt from his trousers, the smirk gone and replaced with a scowl.
"I always get what I want tattoo face," he sneered, "now watch me get what I want!" With the stomp of his foot Jellal quickly deemed the leader; an over grown, spoilt child. Jellal resisted the urge to roll his eyes as his ears picked up on the whispering behind him.
"I'm telling you Ultear, there were 7 men behind him, and now there are 5! Where did the other two go?"
You could see Ultear and Meredy whispering but you couldn't make out what they were saying, even from this distance. But something was wrong. Your eyes scanned the battle field again and you came up empty handed.
Suddenly, Jellal's head snapped towards you just as a hand wrapped itself around your arms and stomach and another pressed against your mouth. Your thrashed in the hold and knocked the person holding you around the face. They yelped in pain and released you enough to push them backwards and stumble out of the trees and into the clearing the battle seemed to be taking place. You felt an awkward smile brace your lips, and you resisted the urge to wave to the observing crowd.
Jellal felt magic surge around you, dark and mysterious like it's user, Shadow Magic. Before he could react however, they got you. He barely noticed that the girl they were trying to rescue stopped sobbing. Either she was captured too or she froze in fear. Or both. But before he could free you again, you freed yourself.
Jellal felt himself smile as you ran away from your assailant, Meredy appearing by your side. A dark look in her eyes. She glanced at Jellal and nodded. She'll deal with him. Jellal now had to keep his promise.
