When you opened your eyes all you saw was a white ceiling above you, and you could hear the constant beeping of a heart monitor. It had just been a dream, a nightmare to be exact, but why had you seen that ghoul in your dreams. What could she have possibly meant by the things she said? Being bound together until you died?
You sighed and slowly tried to sit up to get a better grasp on your surroundings. You were definitely inside of a hospital means that the accident before definitely happened. You reached over and hit the call nurse button, you needed to know what had happened after you blacked out, and also if the boy who was there was also safe.
In a few minutes a woman in scrubs walked through the door, she carried a clipboard and stethoscope. She walked towards you in a calm manner and begins to check your vitals and ask you questions.
"On a scale of one to ten, one being not at all, and ten being the worst, how much pain would you say you are in?" You looked up at her for a moment and then thought, you were in slight discomfort but not to much pain.
"I would say about a five. If you don't mind me asking what exactly did they do to me, and the boy after I blacked out?" You needed to know what had happened, you had to know if that nightmare held any truth to it.
"Well you were rushed to the hospital, and it was decided that you needed an emergency transplant, as did the boy you were with. Luckily all three of you shared the same blood type, and the other woman who was crushed under the beams, was brain dead so Dr. Kannou decided to transplant her organs into the both of you."
You felt a cold chill run down your spine, that woman you were with was a ghoul, was it possible for a ghouls organs to completely change someone if put inside a human's body. What would this do to you? Had you become a ghoul now? You had to find out.
"Is it possible that I could please talk to the boy I was with, and also get something to eat?" The nurse nodded and helped you stand up and get into a wheelchair. She slowly wheeled you down the hallway towards where you assumed to be the boy's room, she stopped in front of a closed door, and then slowly opened the door.
Inside the room you saw the boy you had saved, sitting in the hospital bed in front of you reading a book. The nurse cleared her throat, and you watched as the boy looked up and towards the two of you.
He had the most stunning grey eyes that could get you lost in them, as well as beautiful midnight black hair. You felt your heart skip a beat, but you didn't know why it did, he was certainly very handsome, but you couldn't think about that now you needed to speak to him.
"Hello Kaneki, I have brought along Y/n Kishou, she is the girl who saved you in the accident, and got you out away from the beams." She held a sickening smile on her face, you knew what she had said was completely a lie, and she had no clue that the woman who was with us was a ghoul trying to eat the two of us.
"Hello, Kishou-san thank you for helping me the other night." You turned your head once again towards the boy whose name you now knew to be Kaneki. You gave him a smile and then replied.
"You're welcome Kaneki-san, but please just call me Y/n. Is it alright if I just call you Kaneki?"
"Yes of course it is Y/n." He said with a smile on his face.
"Well, I best go and see my other patients, please do call me when you wish to leave Kishou-san." You both watched as the nurse left the room. You wheeled yourself over to where Kaneki was sitting.
"So you know that the girl you were with was actually a ghoul right?" You said wanting to get straight to the point, with him. You knew that he was probably still shaken up about that incident but you needed to get all the facts straight.
"Ah yes...I know she tried to eat me after all. You really do get straight to the point Y/n." You nodded your head and looked around for a piece of paper and a pen. You eventually found a notebook that was empty and a pen.
"Are these yours Kaneki?" You watched as he nodded his head slowly up and down.
"Do you mind if I use them then, I need to get the facts straight because I have a feeling something may be very wrong with me, if it is okay with you I would like to ask you some more questions."
"That is fine Y/n I am confused as well, I have felt a little strange ever since I woke up, I would be really grateful if you managed to piece it together too, although I don't understand why you would come in and save me like that, you don't even know me." You looked at him in shock for a moment, and then you realized that he didn't know that you were apart of the CCG.
"Excuse my rudeness I have yet to formally introduce myself, this should clear up any confusion. I am Y/n Kishou Rank one Investigator for the Commission For Counter ghoul. I heard you scream, and ran towards the sound only to see you being attacked by a ghoul so I stepped in, no one deserves the fate of being eaten alive by a ghoul, I chose this job to help people, although I definitely messed up the other night trying to save you, if I had been quicker you may have just gotten off with a bite to the shoulder, it is my fault that you and I both had to have organ transplants, and for that, I am very sorry." You bow to the best of your ability while you were still stuck in the wheelchair.
You peek up at him and watched as he looked confused for a moment, and then understanding seemed to wash through his grey eyes, and he gave you a gentle smile.
"It is alright Y/n, it wasn't your fault that it happened in the first place, and if you hadn't come when you did I may not have been alive today to be talking to you. So either way, thank you."
"No Kaneki there really is no need to thank me, it was due to my lack of ability, and I am deeply sorry for that." You said as you bowed your head in shame if you had just been more aware of your surroundings Kaneki and you would not be in this situation.
"It is fine Y/n truly it is, and I don't blame you for anything that happened that night, so don't be so hard on yourself. You said you had some questions to ask me, so let's move on to that okay?" You nodded, your head, and began to ask Kaneki some questions.
"So have you eaten anything, and how did it taste?" Kaneki's eyes widened and he bowed his head down.
"Everything I eat tastes disgusting, Dr. Kannou said that a transplant can do that, but I don't know I find that to be kind of odd but what do I know I am not a doctor." You had a sickening feeling in your stomach if your suspicions were correct, something was about to flip your world upside down, and not in a good way.
