Ring.

Ring.

Ring.

Kyungsoo just lets his phone keep ringing. He doesn't want to answer. He knows that it's Chanyeol — he always knows — and he just lets his phone keep ringing. It's probably already the 200th missed call, and he won't be surprised if it's more, since Kyungsoo has skipped school for 3 days. He lost all his will to study, to learn, to meet him. Everyday, he keeps himself trapped in his room, mourning his fate, wondering why fate loved to play games with his feelings. Is it fun? Is It funny? All he knows is that he can't stand it.

He finally is unable to cry anymore. Kyungsoo thinks that maybe his tear ducts have given out and are almost empty. Chanyeol has such a massive effect on his life, even larger than the bullies have. He would rather be bullied than feel whatever he is feeling right now. Emptiness, regret, hate, love.

He spots a tiny stuffed animal under his pillow. It's his Rilakkuma.

"Kyung Mi-ssi."

"Yes, Channie?"

"I wanna give you something." Chanyeol hid both of his hands behind his back.

"What is it?" Kyungsoo was curious. He tried to peek at what was behind him.

"This." Chanyeol handed him one of his Rilakkuma dolls.

"Oh my gosh, it's so cute! Why're you giving this to me?" Kyungsoo took it and rubbed its head.

"I have another one. They come in pairs, so I'm giving you this so you can remember me everyday. I have one, and you have one. Whenever you miss me, just imagine that it's me and hug it really tight, and I'll do the same." Chanyeol smiled and embraced his Rilakkuma.

"That's so sweet!" Kyungsoo also hugged his precious present.

"Take care of it like you take care of me. These Rilakkumas are very special in my life."

"If it's so special in your life, why are you giving this to me?"

"Because I already have something that's even more special than that."

"Like what?"

"You."

Kyungsoo blushed again. Chanyeol was very good making him blush. Chanyeol cupped Kyungsoo's face and slowly bent down before giving him a long, loving kiss.

Kyungsoo cries again. Turns out his tear ducts still aren't empty. He hugs his precious Rilakkuma. Only God knows how much he misses Chanyeol. He wants to meet him, but there's something deep in his heart telling him it's not a good idea. Kyungsoo is confused. His heart says yes, but his head says no.

Tok tok tok.

Kyungsoo jumps when he hears the knocks on his door. Quickly, he wipes his tears. He knows it's his mom; who else could it be? Slowly, the door cracks open, revealing his smiling mom to him.

"Hey, Mom." Kyungsoo forces himself to smile.

"You don't have to force a smile. I know what your forced smiles look like. They've looked the same since you were a baby."

She approaches her son and sits beside him on the bed. Kyungsoo just keeps silent, keeps his eyes locked on the floor.

"Mind telling me?" She asks.

"Yes. No. I don't know." Kyungsoo is still so confused.

"It's okay. Whatever it is, I hope you'll overcome it. I hate seeing you like this. Is this why you want to skip school?" She asks, rubbing Kyungsoo's back.

Kyungsoo nods.

"I hope you'll be a strong boy. I always pray for your happiness." She kisses her son's forehead and makes her move to the door, thinking that it's the best idea to give him some space to think rather than disturbing him with his unstable emotions.

"Mom!" Kyungsoo grabs her hands, stopping her from leaving. "Wait, I want to ask you something." Kyungsoo makes his mind up. It's better to share his feelings than to keep them to himself until he goes insane.

"Yes, what is it, Kyungie?" She sits back and faces her son.

"What if you fall in love with someone who kind of... Breaks your heart unintentionally? What would you do?" Kyungsoo blurts out. There's no point in keeping it.

"Well, if it was me, I would face him and speak from my heart, try to make things right. If he's not the one for me, I'd accept that, too. At least I already confessed what was inside my heart." Outside, she looks serious, but inside, she's smiling. Turns out his son is in love.

Kyungsoo stays silent and thinks about what she said.

"Avoiding is not the best thing to do. Have some courage and meet that person before it's too late," she adds. She tries her best to help her son.

After her mom leaves, Kyungsoo makes up his mind.

He will meet Chanyeol, and he will tell the truth.

The truth about himself.

The truth about the real Do Kyung Mi.
