It had been over a week since he had any food or rest, Jaylen and his sister Marta each carried the boulders to their ordered places, where as their fellow workers continued to mine the rock on the cliff-face. Suddenly, three of their dalek masters came from the enormous space craft behind them, their metallic voices like nails on a chalkboard "ATTENTION! ATTENTION! THE WORK RATE IS UNACCEPTABLE! YOU WILL INCREASE YOUR EFFORTS IMMEDIATELY!" it barked furiously. The people of Andious had been the daleks slaves for nearly three years. They had descended onto their planet in their ships, their weaponry more deadly then anything one could imagine, their armor, more difficult to penetrate then the hardest steel. They fought as hard as they could, but in less then a day, their beloved world had fallen to these bronze trash cans.

Jaylen was immediately brought back to focus as one of the workers shouted angrily at the daleks "we can't work any harder! How can you expect us to do so when you keep taking our strength from us!" the dalek ignored this outburst "YOU WILL WORK HARDER OR YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED!" Just then, another one of the workers collapsed "GET UP!" ordered the dalek nearest to him "I-I can't" he struggled to speak "t-too weak" the first worker spoke up again "you see! He needs to rest, we all need to rest!" he ran over to try and assist the collapsed worker "don't you get it!  We're no use to you like this!" the dalek simply stared for a moment, then uttered it's reply "CORRECT!" then without warning, its gun stick fired at the collapsed worker, when the beam hit, the man screamed in agony, his organs being scrambled, causing his flesh to flash a transcendent blue, also causing his skeleton to briefly show, before it was quite clear the man was dead.

The first worker simply stared in horror "you...." he muttered, his eyes wide in horror "CONTINUE AND INCREASE YOUR EFFORTS OR YOU WILL SUFFER THE SAME FATE!" it barked, then glided away as if nothing had happened at all. Jaylen simply continued his work, he couldn't see why the other worker was so shocked, when the daleks had done the same to almost everyone else on the planet. It was only a matter of time before they were killed, or in their terms 'exterminated' one by one, perhaps death wouldn't be so bad after all, maybe-.

He never got to finish that thought, as an unfamiliar voice shouted in the distance "DALEKS!"

Then a figure jumped from the bushes and fired the blaster rifle he was holding, his aim was true, it hit one the daleks, blasting its eyestalk clean off, it continuously fired its gun in panic "MY VISION IS IMPAIRED! I CANNOT SEE!" it said in panic, still firing its gun in different directions "HOLD YOUR FIRE!" ordered the dalek next to it "CEASE FIRING OR WE WILL SUSTAIN

DAMAGE!" too late, one of the energy beams caught the one on the right in the grill section, destroying it in an instant, before the others had a chance to respond, the man threw some sort of grenade in their midst, the explosion was strong enough to destroy all three of the remaining dalek, leaving only shattered and split casings where they once were. The man responsible took no moment to make introductions as the prisoners simply stared at him in awe, Jaylen was finding it hard to focus on their hero, who was already helping them undo their chains. When he had finished he spoke up the crowd "Now's your chance! Run for your lives! you're free!" but though his voice sounded sincere, there was something in his eyes that said otherwise. Marta ran up to Jaylen "did you hear that, Jaylen? we're free! We have to thank this man!" "y-yeah, sure" he replied, still stunned slightly,  but the man had already begun to move away, Marta pursued, "wait!" she called, but the man ignored her, Jaylen tried to keep up to his sister, but he couldn't stop wondering... Who is he?
