I heard the alarm clock ringing and indicating that I need to wake up. Ah, I'm still tired and sleepy. I can't wait for the summer break so I can sleep all day long and simply do nothing. I really don't feel like going to school today but I need to return the book to the library. I don't even know how I got home last night, all I remember is falling down, probably fainting, after seeing that strange man. Hmm, maybe it was all a nightmare.

I got up from my bed and looked around me, everything seems to be normal. I must have been really tired in order to not remember getting home.

I did my morning routine and dressed up in my uniform before going to the living room where my grandma was reading the newspaper. The house we live in is that old and traditional Japanese kind of house. My grandma grew up in this house so she wants it to be as authentic as it gets. The only modern-ish things here are my bedroom, the kitchen and the bathroom. She wants the living room, her bedroom and the room where she keeps her shrine, religious books and object to be untouched by modernism and also by everyone else. If I think about it, I never went inside that room, she always keeps it locked and carries the key to the door everywhere she goes. I also never saw her to enter or exit that room, like she never really goes in.

"Good morning granny."

"Good morning dear. I prepared you breakfast and your lunch box is in the kitchen."

"Thank you but I'm going to skip breakfast today, I'm already late and Nene is waiting for me."

"I told you that it's not healthy to skip meals, Suzuka."

"I know, I know. It won't happen again. Oh by the way granny, I'll be out with Nene after school and I don't know when I'm going to arrive home so don't wait for me, ok ?"

"Oh, that's right. She's leaving tomorrow. Don't worry, time will fly without you noticing if you keep yourself occupied."

"That's why I got my books. I'm going now. See you later."

"Be safe."

I went out of the living room, not forgetting to slide the door closed as it was before. I'm in a long hallway that separates the outside world from the interior of the house, also being the only way you can access the kitchen.

I went to get my lunch box and got my shoes on before rushing out towards the train station. I'm actually very late, the train is about to leave in 5 minutes and there's no way I can catch it in time. I don't know why I'm bothering to be honest.

I arrived at the station just a few minutes late but the train was already gone. Nene was sitting on a bench playing with her phone, keeping herself busy probably.

"I was about to text you. You're late."

"Yeah, that happened."
