The country girl

Chapter 16

I now knew the reason why I was invited to this party. I would have to fight for my spot. 

"Oh boy Bay, you're in for some trouble." Daphne said.

"I wouldn't have guessed." I sighed being sarcastic.

"Do you want to leave?" Daphne said tugging on my arm.

I stand up straight. "No. If a fight is what they want it is what they will get." I walk inside with my head held high and tried  looking for James. But all I could see was tons of girls and football players dancing and preparing for the battle ahead. I look around one more time before going to get a drink and my eyes meet Grace's. She gives me her bitchy smile and rolls her eyes. I watch her walk up to the DJ and she pulls a microphone out.

"Everyone." No one looked. "EVERYONE." she screams into the microphone and everyone jumps. "Okay now that I have all your attention I am proudly to pronouce that we can start the games!" Everyone hooted and shouted. "I would like all the girl contestants to go to the right of the room and the boy contestants to the left. Everyone who is not in the ballot, care to spectate." She gave a quick smile and about 60 people went to the front to spectatte. I saw Daphne and she looked concerned.

*Buzz*

I look down at my phone to see a text from Daphne.

'Call me if you need me to help out'

I text back 'okay' and then put my phone back in my purse. We all wait in silence for when Grace is going to continue and I see James across the room talking to Scott. He looked pretty pissed but seemed to obtain it. 

"Okay!" Grace screams. "I am going to choose 3 girls and 3 boys." She gives me a side glance. "And since I am running also I will be on of the 3, then Bay, then Kriss." I huff and look at Kriss. "The boys will be..James." Oh no I look at him and he looks at me. "...Scott, and Khole."

Khole and Kriss glance at each other hoping to partner up.

"Now I will hand off the mic to Hannah and she will be in charge." Hannah was Grace's older sister. 

"How are yall doin tonight??" She sounded pretty drunk.

All of us just kinda looked at eachother. Us six stood in the middle of the room and I looked at James hoping we would be together. 

"Now all of yall little children sit in the middle." We all sat boy girl boy girl. "You buff man catch." All three boys looked and James caught the thrown object. "This game is called find the weasl." It was a stuffed toy. "So this young man is gonna hide it in the house and which ever girl finds it first gets to choose their partner." I had a small smile I could choose James and we could be partners. "Sounds simple right? Now wait there is a twist. These other two gentlemen will be hiding, whoever finds them first has to please them for 30 seconds before they can move on to finding it again." I suddenly go pale. 

"The blind folds please." We all stared. "Oh yes, this is for the gentlemen so when they hide they don't know the girl." James tied both of the blind folds. "Now we will have escorts for these tomen for the hiding places." Two of the other boys from the crowd took them away to find a hiding place. "Now ladies you better cover them eyes." We all closed our eyes and faced the wall. 

"May the games begin!"
