Chapter Four
"You know," Adelyn said, pushing herself off the ground, "I had the craziest dream last night."
"Oh?" Max questioned, turning his attention to his girlfriend.
"Yeah. I can't remember most of it tho-"
"Oh come on, Addie, you can't keep us in suspense!" Annabel whined
Adelyn rolled her eyes and shook her heas, smiling, "Alright." She stopped swinging herself. "Well, I remember you were in it, Max, and you too, Crystal. I think Max was fighting some knight people, and Crystal ran passed me. Oh yeah, Max, you were half demon."
The four friends starting laughing, and Adelyn carried on telling her crazy story to them.
After a little while, a quiet meow was heard. Adelyn frowned and looked in the direction the noise came from. There sat a fluffy cat. Behind it stood a girl, who looked very familiar.
"Oh, sorry, am I interrupting?" the girl asked.
"No, not at all. Come join us." Annabel replied.
Adelyn looked at Annabel. "You know this girl?"
Annabel nodded, and the girl sat on the swing next to her. "This is Jade, everyone. We've known each other for years. Oh and she's called Marshmallow." She gestured to the cat.
Jade shyly waved at the group, and they all greeted her. Marshmallow, on the other hand, kept looking at the other three, like she had never seen people before. Adelyn felt a bit uncomfortable with the cat looking at her constantly, but she tried to ignore it.
The teenagers carried on talking and laughing until the sun went down, and then all went their separate ways home.
Adelyn crawled into bed, and couldn't stop thinking about Marshmallow always glancing at her, Max, and Crystal, but dismissed it as her overthinking. She closed her eyes and quickly drifted off to sleep.
