Running out of the house with their kids, they ran out into the brisk night away from their home. A few figures emerged from the household standing there.
"Aren't we going to go after them?" one of them said.
"No," said the head figure. "They're going to be the perfect messengers."

Note:
Jamie, I'm writing this to you now because I made poor mistakes previously. I told you of my past and what led us to this situation. Little did I know that you we're going to die. I had the intentions for you to survive, and I... I killed you. I don't know if you could ever forgive me for what I've done. Even though you died at the hands of those Legion bastards. I can only blame myself for leading you and the others through that. I found others ways to get by the Legion without doing what we did, and would've saved all of us. I can only do better through Samantha. That file led to all of this, and I should've never dragged you into this. It's the reason I couldn't sleep on our travels to New Vegas. If only you could remember the night before we met Kyle. Before any of this. I, now, only hope and pray to God that I can do better now with Anne. Please forgive me and rest in peace.
~ Will King

Samantha scoured the note to her disbelief. The utter enormity of the truth now rang throughout her mind as tears welled up in her eyes. The deceit and lies of her father now came into light, proving to much to bear.
"How long did you hide this in here?!" Samantha said enraged.
"Eighteen long years," Will said in solemn tone.
"In her ashes which you left by my side!"
"I never wanted you to open it, but now that I let you did, I see the damage of hiding it away."
"Now you do, you're stubbornness has tore through the trust I've had for you."
"I never intended it."
"You know what, my real mother was right, telling you that you're one stubborn mother FUCKER!"
"I know. I'm sorry."

"Let me tell the story of what the file had on it," Will said to Jamie as she was giving birth. "The file was a report on a mission that I did for the NCR before being discharged. I was, like Kyle, an NCR Ranger, but a new Ranger on his first mission. Being sent to Idaho to clear a trading route into a city called Bo. It was the old city of Boise from what I heard, and we were sent to a town southwest of Bo. It was a town called Marsing. We went into the town to clear out any presence that may pose as a threat. However, what we found wasn't what we were expecting."
Jamie screamed in pain as she squeezed Will's arm tightly.
"Can you get me more Med-X out of the bag," with a shaking voice.
"Yes," said Will, grabbing the Med-X out of the bag.
Injecting it in her, Will said, "we're running a bit low, we'll need to conserve it a bit more."
Groggy, she responded with a low, "okay."
"Continuing with what I was saying, what happened is we just found people. A town of just simple farmers, store vendors, guards, and others to keep the town running. They seemed scared, but at the time we didn't know what we got into. We went into this town wary, due to the people being on guard. The squad leader called out for the leader of the town. A hardened man stepped forward, and he said, 'please go, we don't need help.' Some of us expected this, some of us were confused by this. Me, I was expecting this to happen since we were an envoy for these people. Our squad leader asked if they could speak in private.  Their leader, I suppose, brought him to a building, as he ordered to stand by. We stood guard outside a building for hours before they both came out. It seems that we would only help if we could eliminate the raiders nearby, and the NCR could train some of the guards on how to fight better. It was sketchy to say the least."
Jamie screeched again in pain with another push. She again tightly grasped Will's hand.
"It'll be alright," Will whispered into her ear. "What happened was to say at least, was unexpected. It seems that they were just outside of the town, across the river on the other side of their town. We went across that night to go deal with the raiders. Sneaking into the other half of the town itself. We set up positions we thought were critical attack points. They were out all night, and we identified, though we thought, were their leader. Lighting up a show, it was a bloodbath. Somehow we didn't get all of them when in the midst of clearing out the rest of the raiders, an explosion occurred from across the river. Rushing to the bridge, we saw what was occurring. Some of the raiders including their leader, somehow survived."
Jamie squeezed Will's hand, asking in pain, "Will, I'm sorry for interrupting, but I need some water."
"Okay, let me get you a bottle of water," Will said standing and retrieving a bottle.
Handing it to her, she downs the entire bottle before grabbing onto Will's forearm.
"Continue please," she gaspingly requested.
"Okay okay, so we went to the other side of town where we saw them burning buildings down. They were massacring people. My squad leader told us to pull back, since they found themselves scrapped power armor. We went around them, and ambushed them, cornering them in a house. It was a shootout in which the house burned down due to them setting it on fire. That's what killed most of them except their leader whom was in the power armor. We engaged, beating him, but he was hurt badly. We asked him who sent them to harass this town. He said it was a man, I forget his name, but he lived in Bo. My squad leader wanted to report it to brass. I was infuriated, I wanted this man to die for harassing this town. That night, as we stayed in the town, I went out to go find this man. By dawn of the next day, I found myself in Bo. I searched for the better half of the morning before I found him. He was still in his home in which I walked in. I killed him. I used my sequoia to do it. I went back to the town in which my squad was waiting for me. They interrogated me, and I informed them of my actions. Obviously they were upset by my disobedience. When heading back to NCR, they informed the higher ups of my actions. Getting back to the nearest base, I was handcuffed, and taken down with a vertibird to Shady Sands. I was locked in for a few days. In which they interrogated me for hours each day. Why? It was because I killed their contact in Bo. 'I did something that I wasn't supposed to.' I went against orders to kill a man who ordered violence. Instead of putting me into military jail or any jail for that matter, the dealt with me silently. In which they decided that discharging me would be the safest course of action to take. After that my life was not the same. My team disowned me, and I was discharged. Told to leave the NCR. Damned bureaucrats.  It's the whole reason I left. I couldn't go back home at all, not to see any of my family. That's why I headed east. That's why I dislike Kyle. That's why I didn't want to stay in the Mojave Wasteland. That's why I headed out here. That's why I couldn't get any sleep. That's why I'm here with you."
"It doesn't matter what you've done Will. I will always love you."
"That's why we'll both always love our daughter."
Jamie smiled, then pushed yet again. Her screams filling the mine. Will sat there besides her as she gave birth to a girl. He cleaned and cradled her. Calling the others over. He knew one thing in that moment. He looked at the happiness of Jamie as she held their daughter for the first time. That this new daughter would remind Will of Jamie no matter what'll happen on that mountain.
