The Law

The next day I awoke alot more cheerful than the last. I slipped on a white tank top, put on my black sleeveless hoodie over it. Put on my black leather pants, which had a silver chain hanging from the right pocket. Then stepped into my red converse. I decided to skip breakfast and head straight to the park. I went to the same place she had left me the last time. Down by the pond, she had beaten me there. She was sitting there, holding her knees. She wore a black t shirt, blue jeans and blue skate shoes. She turned to me, flashing her beautiful smile. She was very pretty, more than anyone I had seen. "Hey Akira!" She beamed at me. "Hi Ravyn." I said back. I took a seat next to her on the green soft grass, the sight was stunning. There was a cherry blossom tree hanging over the pond, the petals were ever so gently drifting down onto the water, sending out glistening ripples. "Wow." I said. Ravyn again smiled at me. "This spot is so pretty."  She said. "Not alot of people come here." I couldn't imagine why. I then noticed something. I felt....warm...sitting next to her. I felt more alive than I had ever felt in my life. My face got hotter and hotter with every second I was next to her. I had finally found someone I can relate to.....but it was all about to come crashing down. "Hey!" Bellowed a voice from behind us. We both turned. It was a police officer. This couldn't be good. "Is there a problem?" I said passively. "You are violating the law. You are with a different species." He stated. I was dumbstruck. "We are both foxes." I said. By this time I had got up and was a few feet from him. "She's a fennec and you're an arctic." He bellowed. "Besides the rule is you can't mate with another species! We aren't mates!" I started shouting. "Things change!" He yelled back. "Well i refuse to-" I started, but all I heard was Ravyn's horrified scream and then everything went black. I woke a few hours later...dazed. My head throbbed hard. My ears were ringing. He had struck me with his baton. Ravyn must have been taken back home. I realized that I had been left in the park and it was now night time. I got up, clutching my head. I noticed a note on the ground. I picked it up off the grass and it read: "Call me. Ravyn." Then her number followed. I was going to do exactly that. I had found a ray of sunshine in my life. I wasn't about to let a "Law" take it away from me.
