Telling someone you love them and not knowing if you were going to see them the next day was one of the hardest things William would have to face. That's why he never told her. Never telling her that he was always going to care for her even if they were not going to be together and even if they were far, far away from each other was a huge decision that he soon regretted. Their love was the kind of love that made William a better person, but it never changed who he truly was inside. They might not have been close now, but William will never forget how they use to be.
It was a foggy Sunday evening during Winter break of his junior year in high school. The lucent white and tiny snowflakes danced towards the ground and carelessly fell onto the bleak, soft snow. It was the kind of winter where nobody dared to crawl out of their bed. Afraid to escape the warmth of his heated covers, William just sat there bundled up like a marshmallow. Frost was frozen to his window that overlooked his family's backyard and the chilly winter air found its way through the cracks of the window in William's room.
William glanced over to his windowsill which he had made a tiny area for all of his junk. The only thing that William had valued on his depressing and cluttered windowsill was a black picture frame of myself and the girl he had never shared his true feelings to. Reaching out for the photo of the two of them, his long sleeved sweater was forced up William's arm exposing the stained wrist. William glanced down to his bare arm and chills crawled down his spine. Even though the cuts were healed, the pain wasn't. It didn't take losing her for William to be this way. He was considered to be depressed before they had met, before they fell in love, and then before they lost each other. She just temporarily concealed William's pain for a while. Losing her caused the scarsscares to be torn open once again.
Before William started to cut, before he started to harm himself, he thought he would be able to control himself. But with every cut, William started to feel the pain growing more unbearable and the blood strangely addicting. William hated himself, he hated his parents, and he just hated the world and the fact of living. Then, William met Hannah and everything changed. But, William thinks nothing good last in his life and when she disappeared the pain just decided to take over his life once again.
William clasped his hands around the frame and tugged the photo to his chest. Closing his eyes, William reimagines everything. The pain, the happiness, then the destruction.
Mr. Burner slammed the large, eight hundred paged chemistry book down on William's desk and he jerks up from his deep death like slumber. He glances up to see his chemistry teacher, Mr. Burner glaring down towards him. Burner was a middle aged man, possibly his forties, not married, no children, and certainly wasn't going to get some any time soon. William had always compared him to an overweight orange tabby cat. His hair was a bright orange and he had bright blue eyes. Mr. Burner was a short, plump man who easily got out of breath by just walking to his desk and to the door.
He has always had a temper. It was not just from the fact of William dozing off and the fact that he nevers pay attention in his class. He crossed his chubby arms and let out a large raspy huff. William slumped back down onto his chair as William felt about two dozen eyes trail over to me. He felt his body heat and lock up.
"You'll be partnering with Hannah Valentine." states Mr. Burner. He took a long pause. "Is that okay William?" he added and William wanted to shake his head no, but he knew he would have no choice.
William knew exactly who Hannah was. His eyes trail over to a ginger red headed girl whose skin was as pale as the snow tumbling to the ground outside. She was wearing a gray sweater, a red scarf, blue jeans, and a pair of brown Ugg boots. She glanced over with a weak smile and waved. Hanna was thinking the same thing Willaim was. William dreaded the thought of being paired up with someone who always thought their life was perfect and everything can go their way if they believed it could. It was obvious that she did not want to be stuck with someone who wouldn't do the work. William lifted his hand as a greeting. Mr. Burner smiled obviously happy of the decision he had made.
