Night

"Well, Night, what are you waiting for?" Nick Fury asked as slammed his fist on the table in front of me.

"Easy tiger. I'm still chewing." I said through my hand.

"Unbelievable. It's great to know our enemies are training super soldiers in table manners." Director Fury said.

"They're sadistic killers, not savages." I said and pushed the plate aside. "Now I've lost my appetite for food."

The Avengers circled around a table in the control room. Wint stood behind me, keeping a close eye like I was a dog. I was sandwiched between Sam and Clint as they fought over who got to clean my plate. Tony Stark and Steve Rogers were both trying to take control of the mission and set up a clear path to Hydra's base. I couldn't help notice that everyone acted like a really big family, who could never get along and I was the awkward other spouse in the middle of it.

"Well, what do you suppose we do to find a cave in the middle of Russia?" Natasha asked as she pushed Clint's face out of the way. "I was born in Russia too and I don't know all of it."

"We have coordinates. You just need your tech mobiles to plot them in your computer then broadcast it on your plane." I said.

"The weather is ridiculous at this time of year. We not be able to see the ground from high above." Director Fury said.

I shrugged my shoulders and slapped the table, "Well what do you want me to do? Here I am out of my way, being forced with to help you, but you're not taking my advice."

"We will find the cave even if we search on the ground even if it's for a week." Director Fury ordered, "Now, I want a training record of her before you leave. I expect her to be able to stay alive when she fights."

"I don't think it's Night you should be worried about." Wint said.

Director Fury looked at Wint then looked at Tony, "Might as well have him join, but I want an Avenger by his side the entire time. And do come back with good news." He added before pinching a donut from Clint's fingers and walking out of the room.

Clint whimpered, "My donut...."

Sam patted Clint's back as the Avengers started to leave the table. Wint came up next to me and patted my shoulder but I swatted his hand away. I was eying the case files that Stark had turned his back to. I reached my hand for them but Steve slammed his hand in top of the files and picked them up. He glared at me as he walked around the table, and grabbed my arm. He lifted me out of the chair as I pushed him away from me.

"I can move by myself, but thank you, Rogers." I spat.

"Don't call me Rogers." Steve growled.

"Now I will. Thanks for the suggestion." I patted his shoulder then pushed him aside and followed Wint out.

The Avengers were stationed around different stations in the hanger. Tony was talking to the pilot of the jet, whose I learned was Director Fury's son, discussing a new design plan for the jet as soon as they finished this mission. Clint was bribing Natasha with a ten dollar bill to drink a Monster mixed with Red Bull and coffee. Sam was talking to Steve, but Steve wasn't paying attention to him as he was sharping a knife and giving me a death glare from across the hanger. I avoided Steve's direction and aimlessly meandering around the jet.

Wint watched me curiously, "What are you doing?"

"Nothing. Dancing."
