"Wassup homeslice?"
So in my 1st period in 8th Grade at the Middle School in my ADV Social Studies class, my teacher Mr. Murphy had an assignment for us to write a historical narrative. And of course, he had totally forgotten about this assignment and he didn't want to have us do it in class because it "wastes our time to learn." Which I can agree in some ways. Anyway, he left it off until last minute like he usually does and gave it to us to work on over a week or so.
So I am EXTREMELY indecisive and I most of the time very much dislike myself for it! So I took many days deciding what to write on because I couldn't make up my mind. Then I went to one of the greatest sources or places to go when you need any help or guidance. So, I asked my mom what she thought I should write about for this project and she suggested the Haun's Mill Massacre. When she had brought it up I was completely clueless! I had never heard those words before except for "massacre." So she explained the outline of the story.
After debating with myself in my head I had set my mind to focusing on doing the Haun's Mill Massacre. Then I came up with the characters and the settings, the main focus that was made for us as the authors (given to us by Mr. Murphy) was that we had to show how our main character comes to find their true identity and what it truly means to them to be an American. And I thought, "Oh! Yes! This'll be so easy!! It'll fit into my story so easily!" So then I also had to look online and research the Haun's Mill Massacre so I found some really insightful websites on the Massacre especially on LDS.org and the BYU websites! They were very helpful! As I gathered more knowledge on the event, the story was beginning to come together in my head and I had it all planned out.
So then I began the writing process...
After getting more than halfway into my narrative I had gotten stuck! Arggg! The struggles of writing! I then had to begin another head banging process of deciding what I would like to happen next in my story and what the ending is and how I should tie up in the end to that point. So I thought of a variety of outcomes in my head then planned out how that might go and possibly end up. After revising and pondering about some I had chosen the ending that you'll read. When it had come to that point in the story I was then thinking about what our main focus was supposed to be for our main characters. Then I was like, "OMHAPPINESS!! I can't do this! WHAT THE HECK?! How are we supposed to do this?! I don't even know what I'm doing anymore!!"
So yeah...
That was my moment of my thoughts and mind collapsing! So I then followed the plan I had set for the ending of the story to be and I worked out some little ways to make the main character, Christoper, find out what his identity is and what it truly means for him to be an American. I'm going to apologize for this now because I'm a really bad writer: I'm sorry I can't make up my mind throughout the story of what point of view I wanted to write it in so I went crazy! Hopefully, it doesn't become really boring or confusing to you! I would also like to point out that, yes! I made the main character's name be "Christoper" not Christopher because it seems more unique and a name you might find from 1838 instead of Zac Efron. (Even though, now that I look at the name, it's a pretty cool way to spell it! Good job!)
So, now after explaining my long, boring, and dreadful process of how I came to know about and write this narrative, I will let you read it. Hopefully, you will like it because I'm not the best writer in the world like some others that I know. (*cough* JK Rowling *cough*)
Author's Note: Just for those of you that don't know this, I'm Mormon and no, I do not have 5 moms. lol, why? Anyway, I recently developed this obsession with Studio C not too long ago from some friends and I wanted to share one of their episodes. I just quoted it earlier in my intro and I thought you might want an explanation to why I'm so messed up, lol, so I added the video on top. I hope you guys enjoy! I LOVE Studio C they are the best!! I practically die of laughter during each one! So I hope you like it! :) I'll try to do more things like this in the future! (I got inspired to do this by one of my friends whose a Wattpad writer too: @sillysie ) Don't forget to follow her too! Her books are the bomb dot com!!
One website I first found and studied was: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haun%27s_Mill_massacre
I had used another website that was WAY better than Wiki which was a BYU study paper on it, I believe that this one is more trustworthy and insightful than the other one: http://eom.byu.edu/index.php/Haun's_Mill_Massacre
The Mormons had traveled to Missouri due to revelation from our Father to Joseph Smith Jr enlisted in Doctrine & Covenants Section 52:
