Professor Oralia stared at me unblinkingly, confusion laced with concern plastered over his face.
I finally snapped. "So?" I demanded.
He sighed, rubbing his face. "So... if you'd like to attempt the advancement, you may do so... but do you really think you can master all the spells in your book in just two months, Greta?"
I grinned. "I think I can, and that I have. I'd like to attempt the advancement. There's no penalties for failing, why not?" I shrugged.
He nodded. "That's true. Alright. I'll have it for this afternoon, around 8."
"I have a class until 9, actually." I grinned guiltily. "What about during lunch?" I offered.
He nodded. "That can be done. I'll contact the board. Ready yourself." He turned to his grimoire, and wrote something I couldn't make out.
I sat in my seat, and Daniel looked at me. "Y-you're trying to advance s-so soon?" He asked incredulously.
I nodded. "I want to learn more advanced things. And the free period in the library will help that." I grinned, thinking about all the books I could study.
He hummed, tapping his feet, and I quickly raised mine off the floor as the ground around us became electrified, zapping several people lightly.
Several scoffs were heard immediately. "Seriously, Thorn? Get a grip!" One particularly annoyed girl hissed, smoothing her now-frizzy hair.
He blushed, and I smiled, handing him something I'd made recently. I'd decided on my gift to him, after several of these instances.
A small rune carved into a thick bracelet of pure tungsten, created to absorb and hold his excess lightning in the thousands of astral crystals connected to it for his use.
In the astral plane, it looked like a giant spiky ball of crystal stalagmites, the size of a mountain, carved with containment runes, and glowing feebly with the gigantic Silver rune in the center to redirect the godly energy.
Oddly enough, in the physical plane, is managed to make it look like a solid tungsten torc, carved with godly protection and containment runes, capped in a single, tiny piece of quartz on either end of the arc.
He blinked at it, then looked at me. "What's this?"
"You got me chocolates, so I thought about what to get you. That swallows your electricity, and allows you use of it whenever you feel like it." I grinned.
He blinked again, sparks spreading as he got excited, and people started complaining as the grounds electric charge got stronger. He touched the torc, and it all disappeared, even most of the lightning in his eyes.
He laughed, slipping it onto his right wrist. "Thanks... I don't really know how to thank you enough." He grinned at me lightly, as carefree as I'd ever seen him.
"Oh toss it. I didn't do it for completely selfless reasons. I wanted to know if I could make something that could contain godly energy." I shrugged, flapping a hand dismissively.
He smiled. "It's still very nice. Thank you." He said, stroking the metal. It started glowing gently as the sparks heated the metal, and he laughed again. "Wow. Amazing."
"Simple enough. I could teach you the runes, if you like, so you could make something of your own later when you outgrow that one?" I shrugged.
He nodded. "I'd like that."
