Adam's house

After school, we got picked up by Adam's mum Kata.

The entire drive to their house Adam and I were attempting to yell out the words to Blurred lines.

Adam had a little sister who didn't seem to like me very much, but she gave me the vibe that as long as Adam was happy she was too.

Kata drove us back to their place, that was about a five minute walk to the beach.

Adam had a beautiful house.

It looked to be three stories, it was bright white with grey tiles and outlines, and a fresh green front yard.

My mouth fell open.

"Are you okay?" Adam asked me.

"H-how do you have such a great house?!" I sputtered.

He just shrugged.

"It doesn't make sense." I blinked. "I've lived here in Sydney for seven years, and I have a bloody one story house that we can't afford, and barely fit in, you've lived here for a year and live in this."

He let out a deep chuckle before lightly grabbing my hands and pulling me out of the car.

My heartbeat was faster.

He led me inside the house and my knees went weak.

The interior was almost futuristic.

White tiles, grey and white furniture, large open spaces and  a window wall that lead outside.

The only thing that kept me standing was Adams soft grip on my hands.

"Come on! My rooms upstairs." He said letting go of one hand to guide me up the stairs.

The upstairs was smaller than downstairs, but still considerably big.

There were two rooms, Adam's room and an ensuite, and a balcony that stuck out of the wall of his room.

He had a double bed pressed in the corner and a carpet that reached all the way across the floor.

Adam let go of both of my hands and my heart sank slightly.

He opened a nearby cupboard to expose multiple board games and cards.

He placed his hands on his hips and shifted his weight to one leg.

Adam looked over his shoulder at me, and gestured for me to come over to him.

I obediently trotted over to him and he rested his elbow on my shoulder. We were the same height so he had to move to rest on me.

"What do you want to play?" He asked. He seemed to have to think about what he was saying so he could word it properly.

"How about I teach you a card game?" I asked softly.

"Great! Let's do that!" He shouted in his thick Hungarian accent.

We both planted ourselves on the carpet and I set up the playing cards.

"So this game is called spit." I told Adam.

He nodded.

"Alright this is how you set up, and this is how you play." I explained the rules to him and demonstrated them for more detail.

He was terrible, but we made it fun.

Soon enough Kata walked in. She said something to Adam which I couldn't understand. He replied fluently in Hungarian.

Kata walked out and Adam turned to me. "Mum just say we can go to the beach if you like."

It was boiling, but I didn't have anything to change into.

"I didn't bring any clothes." I told him. He frowned slightly before looking back at the door.

"If we swim in pool you can  wear that. It will dry very quick." He said.

Wait he has a pool too?

So I shrugged and we ran downstairs, leaving the cards where they were.

Even as we got outside we didn't stop running. He somehow managed to continue a fluent speed whilst pulling his shirt over his head.

He carelessly threw the shirt off to the side without a glance. He bombed right into the pool.

He flicked his wet hair out of his face as he called for me to get in.

"I'm going to do a run up!" I said stepping back a few paces to run into the pool.

As I ran towards to pool, I slipped in a small puddle. I flew through the air and my legs went over my head. I quickly lifted my head so I could see where I was going to crash.

My body smashed into the water and I almost hit the bottom of the pool.

I pushed my way to the surface and looked at me in awe.

"That was amazing!" He yelled. What. "You just did a backflip forwards!!"

I don't think he realised I fell.

"Want me to show you how?" I suggested.

He crawled out of the pool, water dripping off him. I followed him and went to my previous run up path.

"So you just get to the end of the pool, a lot of people will turn around and do a backflip from there, but what you need to do is jump forward like you're going to bomb, and then just flip." I told him.

I had no idea of that was true, but I didn't want to risk him getting hurt. So I ran up and did it myself, and it worked.

Adam then followed my footsteps as he flipped into the pool.

And that's how we spent the next hour, flipping and posing in the air with each other.
