Waking up Maple had no memory as to why she was asleep on the couch when she had a rather comfortable bed upstairs, until she looked out the window across from her. There outside through the glass was the mess she had made last night.

Tress had been ripped from the ground laying upon each other, scorch marks littered all most all of the unlucky creations of the world. Mud and moss mixed together and a lingering darkness coated the sky.

Startled by the loud knock coming from her front door, Maple closes her eyes sadly before turning around and shuffling towards the door. Once opened the girl is greeted with the face of Charlie, a look of worry swimming in his dark eyes.

"Oh Maple you're okay, I saw you run in last night but you didn't answer when I tried knocking" came Charlie's voice causing Maple to blink a couple times and softly shake her head.

Clearing her throat, Maple lets out a soft yawn before replying to the man who still had a storm of worry in his eyes. "Oh uh yeah, I'm fine. Sorry I must of fallen asleep" Maple's eyes trailed behind the brunette man to see a familiar girl walking towards them.

Charlie, realizing that Maple's attention was else where, follows her gaze to find his daughter just stepping onto the grass of Maple's front lawn. Turning back to the blonde girl in front of him, he smiles at her as her attention focus back onto him.

"Maple, this is my daughter Bella, Bells this is Maple Latimer. She just moved here a few days ago" Maple smiles at the girl she saw yesterday, now having a name to put to the face. "Uh yeah, I met her yesterday in the woods. Are you okay? You got out of there pretty fast and you didn't look so well" Bella stumbles over her words as she meets eyes with said girl.

Rolling her neck around, Maple nods at the girl "Oh yes, I'm fine. It's nice to properly meet you, Bella" turning back to look at Charlie she smiles at him inviting them both in for coffee, getting a nod from Charlie and an awkward shrug from Bella, she opens the door wider to allow them in.

Sitting back down on the couch with her legs crossed underneath her and a warm cup of coffee in her hands, she jumps slightly when Charlie speaks, going unnoticed by her two guest. Training her focus onto the brunette father sitting in her mothers old recliner, she nods along to what he was saying, not paying much attention until Bella brings up the abrupt storm from yesterday.

"That storm yesterday was really weird, it was sunny and bright one second and then bam it's hell on earth" Bella rambles, capturing the attention of Maple, her eyes still glued to the contents of her mug. Humming in response she smiles towards Bella agreeing with her statement.

After everyone had finished their coffees, Charlie and Bella were off, the front door closing softly behind them. Sighing, Maple stands moving towards her stairs pulling herself up them, two at a time.

Once she reaches the last step Maple waste no time, breaking into an almost sprint for her bathroom. Feeling the cold tiles under her feet she closes her eyes in a peaceful bliss only to be interrupted by the sound of her phone ringing.

Picking up her phone from where it laid on the coffee table, she falls back into the couch allowing it to swallow her whole. "Hey mum, yes I'm fine I'm just tired. How're things back in Michigan?"

Phone calls with Susan Latimer seem like they last for hours, and if you're unlucky enough they do. Saying their goodbyes Maple drops her phone next to her, throwing her head back against the head of the couch. Pushing herself back up she makes her way back up to her bathroom.

Wiping her hand against the bathroom mirror to rid it of the steam that had accumulated on the surface. She runs a hand down her face, pausing to stare at the dark circles under her eyes concealer it is today comes a bitter spat in her head.

Making sure she was completely dry, Maple heads towards her bedroom, pushing the door open with her hip. Stalking towards her drawers she grabs out a matching set of underwear she had recently brought, slipping them on Maple doesn't hesitate to grab the first article of clothing her hand lands on.

Leaning against her kitchen counter, clad in a simple dark green, long sleeved dress with grey knee high socks and black ankle boots. Maple absentmindedly raps her knuckles against the marble counter top, thinking back to Christmas nine years ago.

Jumping at the sound of her coffee filling the cup, Maple shakes her head with a small scoff. Grabbing a light blue coffee mug with an outline of a stag printed on it, she begins to fill the mug with her coffee, pausing to grab the creamer and pouring that in. Maple smiles in delight as the hot, bitter liquid rolls down her throat, warming up her entire being.

Beginning her trek back to the couch, Maple halts in her actions as a knock grabs her attention. Walking towards her door, hand warping around the handle she swings it open almost hitting herself in the process.

A chuckle reminds her of why she opened the door, looking towards the man who rocks back and forth on the heels of his feet. Maple forces out a tight lipped smile, her nose scrunching up in confusion.

The man smiles down at the small girl, white teeth seemingly shining in the light. Maple's heart pounds in her chest, the sound of a mug hitting the ground, shattering into a million pieces seems distant to the girl who can only focus on the man in front of her.
